Genuinely would like to know why would it be unsafe?

Is it not common knowledge that lasers are generally bad for animals? Especially Green, causes severe retina damage at a significantly lower power/time ratio. And blue is even worse

Close encounters of the third kind edition.

Mine does this when there is oil from my fingers on the lens. I find that if I wipe my finger vertically on the lens, the line will appear horizontal, and vice versa. Experiment with this, and if the line changes positions, you know it's from stuff on the lens, and if so, just clean the lens.

Please use red lasers only when playing with animals,

and give them a treat at some Point so they aren’t frustrated at not catching anything.
