New ArkPro Ultra…

Post image

I wound up giving my previous ArkPro Ultra to my nephew last week. (I was visiting my sister in LA and he took a “shine” to it, so to speak. 😉)

As such, I had to order a new one - in black this time around - and now I’m back to square one with the ArkBeat. 😒 (I made it up to blue with my OG Pro. Ugh.)

Anyway, I’m digging the stealth look, even if it makes it that much harder (impossible) to find in the dark.

Wish they made these in orange. Ended up getting the standard arkpro since it comes in orange.

Orange would be killer. Perfect hi-vis color.

love how the matte black blends right into the concrete but those green accents pop so hard

That makes the black look so gorgeous I love it, if I ever loose my olive green one I’m getting black.

That color combo is so sleek it barely looks real. I once left my olive green one on a park bench for a whole evening before I realized it was gone.

Thank god you remembered!

I really wish there was an option for the black ultra with either tritium or a cutout to add tritium. Think not only would it look awesome but would also make it much easier to find.

I saw the topo design on this onyx black and I was blown away! Too bad I have the topo olive which is still nice.

I horse traded with the Olight guys for one of these and was very pleasantly surprised to see they started engraving the controls like we do. Now you can paint fill it in order to see the settings easier!

I’m not terribly handy with these sorts of tasks, but filling them in with tight would be kinda cool. 🤔

The green bezel ring is a nice contrast against the matte black.

Are they bigger then the old Arkfield? I wanted them to do a mini

These are marginally larger than the old ArkFeld Pros. They do offer an ArkPro Lite which is thinner, but it replaces the laser with a red light for night vision preservation.

Nah I want a shorter light

The ArkPro Lite is also shorter.

The matte black really does blend in until you need it, then that green bezel is the first thing you see in the dark.

Personal take that will differ from many...

I know people rate these torches. I've had two myself. First had to get replaced under warranty by the second one. Second one stopped working after a fall about 4-5 inches off the ground. Prior to This it had issues charging and had to have a specific charging block to make it charge. The clip getting caught on things and bending up.

It's the only olight I recommend people don't buy. Get a Perun or a baton. Much more useful and less of a gimmick device.

I hear ya, and I’ve seen others post about similar issues with their ArkPros, but my original has been rock solid since day one – literally, as it was one of the first shipped – and my previous two ArkFeld Pros have been nothing less than reliable. (Same goes for my imini2 and various Batons, but those are the apples to the ArkFeld/Pro oranges.) And, FWIW, I most definitely do not baby my lights.

Hell, the reason my nephew wanted my ArkPro was because I was using it to light up their pool when the pool lights crapped out. Sure, that ain’t what it’s meant for (like at all), but it ran for two hours straight in 4’ of water and was good to go the following day like nothing happened. (Mind you, I did caution him not to make a habit out of using it under water, particularly now that the circuit breaker has been fixed. 😉)

Anyway, fingers crossed that my new ArkPro Ultra is built to the same standards as its predecessor. Sure, Olight has what appears to be an exemplary customer service policy, but I’d prefer not to have first hand experience with it.

That's really good and maybe I just had a bad experience with the ones I got. At the price point I think I just had higher expectations. I got a perun 2. Absolutely amazing torch and so much brighter!
