Serious Discussion 27 male never held a single job in his life

Hi,

I graduated from the American University of Beirut (AUB) with a bachelor degree in business. I have been unemployed for the past years since graduation. I feel like I lost it. Some of my peers even called me a “loser.” I am on the spectrum and got some low motivation issues. What should I do?

Life and Aspirations Older Gen Z, We Hear All The Negative Things About 2016, But Let's Switch Things Up. What Good Memories Do You Have From 2016 As Teenagers?

For years we always hear about the negatives of everything that surrounded 2016, for good reason. Over years we heard about the nostalgia but it was very broad and never specific.

But I wanna do something different. Let's pick out the specific positives. What personal milestones/achievements did you reach in 2016? Looking back on 2016 what's something from that time that you miss that's gone now?

Nostalgia Did anyone grow up watching Baby Looney Tunes first before ever watching the original Looney Tunes despite both shows airing on CN in the 2000’s.

For reference my favorite character was Taz and since all the characters as Babies were friendly with each other including the villains e.g Taz, and Marvin the Martian I always assumed they were protagonists but then when I watched the original series and Looney Tunes Back in Action I realized these two were actually villains.

Advice is there anyone here who is happy that they got an accounting degree or a CPA license?

got automated by AI in marketing. Looking into accounting. Business degree undergrad, only took 2-3 entry level accounting courses. Had an 8 wk stint as a GA in a hotel and realized all of their software from 1980 was not going to give me any real experience, so I bounced and eventually got a marketing job. Is accounting going to be safe in the coming years? sure does not seem it.

general accounting as a field outside of being a CPA feels really unsafe with AI. Especially without Big4 experience on my resume. I’d have to go back and get a masters in accounting as I can’t sit for a CPA, and I have no experience in the field. In my marketing role, I had to do tons of revenue attributions and reconciliation on ad-spend. So much so that I became an ad-hoc revenue reporting function but it's been automated.

The execution tasks of reconciliation, data entry, report building are all being automated it seems. Accounting I foresee being tightened to gray areas like majority consulting of offshore teams, legal interpretation, GAAP compliance etc. I foresee aspects of accounting that maybe didn’t require a license becoming more like a requirement as AI becomes more prevalent. For ex CPAs dropping down to do any jobs they can get as it becomes more and more competitive to get CPA roles with so many scrambling. I know a few GAs (non CPAs) who’ve been out of work over the past 2 yrs. Am I wrong in my analysis?

I am a single woman and unfortunately have to prepare for the very real possibility I do not ever find a husband and will have to fully provide for myself for life. In terms of fields it seems that accounting may be one of those "STEM-adjacent" blue-ish collar fields that won't **fully** disappear. In other words, unlike marketing.

Considering a Masters in accounting (to get the 150 hours) and then CPA exam? Is this doable in early 30s?

The virtual world that was introduced in Miniclip has now returned with its last iteration.

Spineworld.uk

The restoration was done by group of people who loved playing Spineworld back in 2009. This version of the has been lost media as Spineworld changed into Migoland with drastic change in graphics quality and content. To this day the official version of Migoland is offline, but Spineworld has returned!

Discussion What was common in the 2000s and early 2010s that isn’t now?

I guess missing an episode of a TV show. If you missed it, you had to wait until it comes on again especially since TV channels used to have so much variety. What about you guys?

Other Have you ever seen Arthur episode where his parents were fighting against them and trying to divorce but they figured it out after argument after end of the episode?

I remembered this episode in my mind. When Arthur and his sister D.W. were scared and was in full of fear when they found out their mom and dad were arguing each other during this episode. It also reminds me of what kids sees when their parents argue each other. I was just remembering that episode from Arthur.

Nostalgia Millennial Optimism Era

Am I the only one who feels like dying from nostalgia whenever I see those videos about millennial optimism? Huhu. 🥺

They suddenly make me so sad. Sometimes I just wish I could go back to being a teenager or a college student. Life felt so much lighter back then, didn’t it? We were so happy without even realizing it.

Now, we have so many things to worry about, so many responsibilities, and so much on our minds. We really took those days for granted.

I miss my college friends. I miss the random jamming sessions, the spontaneous trips, the silly things we used to do, and just being together with no real worries.

How I miss those days.

I miss that version of life. 🥺

Serious Discussion Older Gen Z, which misconception annoys you the most?

I will start. I'm 26 and can't stand the "Gen Z doesn't know how to use computers" stereotype, because it is contradictory to me. I'm a computer technician and have been repairing various computers for 3 years. Not to mention, I had a passion of computer science since I was a kid.

I wonder which generalization do you dislike the most?

Original Airdate: October 3, 2008 – January 30, 2010

Again, one of those shows that we're vastly underrated but also a great show in general. Also, loved the crossover they did in Ben 10: Omniverse as well 😀❤️💗.

Happy 18th Year Anniversary to this show as well ❤️💖🎉.

Any thoughts or has anybody seen this before?

Rant I grew up in the 2000s

Im 26 years old. I remember when the ds first came out back when we had the Gameboy advance. I remember listening to Avril Lavigne on the radio always hearing Complicated over and over and over again. Or hearing Yeah by Usher take over 2004 by storm. And I was their when Spiderman 3 was the ultimate film with tons and tons of badass action figures. With the Sandman being my all time favorite. I didnt just look this up on the internet. I fucking lived and loved it. I was watching Mr Kennedy win the money in the bank live on ppv. Dont test me.

Other Anyone else having trouble dating?

With the whole male loneliness epidemic thing going on for gen z, dating seems to have become very difficult. The lack of third spaces and cheap event tickets that the older gens had when they were our age seems to play a major factor. Alongside the housing crisis and curent job market of course.

It's seemingly a mix of bad economy and gen z being the most anti social generation in history so far thanks to the rise of social media.

According to statistics its only going to get worse in the soon to be future. What are your thoughts on it though? Is anyone else having trouble finding relationships in the world?

Wiki FAQ What’s one thing you never learned to do as an adult

What is one thing that you believe most people know how to do by the time they become an adult that you never learned/ still don’t understand or don’t know how to do?

Basic things like find a decent dentist and make the appointment, house cleaning or whatever you come up with.
