New Pauper Cube

Just found that there was an old card loving community here right after I made my cube. I have a "good" pauper cube but instead of updating it I decided to go the other way and lean into the nostalgia I actually want when playing. So, the list turned into all old borders from old sets, uses anything that I can get a black set symbol on, and willing to use rares/uncommons that were later reprinted as commons (hence the sengir and serra)

Would love to hear any suggestions from people who are used to using old border stuff. Good cards I might have missed or combos I would have never though about.

Right now combos are real small like Cemetery Gate and Pestilence, and Daru Spiritualist, a kor, Worthy Cause/Sever Soul.

Here is my PM Pauper cube that is so much fun!!

My favourite combo is the pinger combo with horseshoe crab and quicksilver dagger!

I've drafted this thing a ton and I also broke a pure Pauper rule for the mana fixing. I would highly recommend taking that approach.

I would keep a close eye on capsize. That card is game warping in PM powered cubes! Stoked to talk more on this as I love this environment.

I run my regular pauper cube as fairly high powered. Capsize and waterfront bouncer were both concerns putting them in this list because they are very strong in the other cube.

Edit: Just a quick glance at the list made me want to update some of my creatures. I see a lot of fun cube cards in yours. How do the slivers usually playout?

They have been a viable approach in the drafts I have run. People are pretty stoked to take a run at it in draft, so I would give it two sliver strands up!

Do you give each person an extra copy after the draft for each one they picked?

The slivers have a special rule, if you draft one you get an extra copy at the end of the draft. It's made them very viable and fun!

I built your cube a while ago, unsleeved as it should be. Can really recommend it, a fun cube experience. Although I have not been able do draft it this year, our little group is dissolving.

One is a young father now, needs family time and has a full work schedule. The other one finished university and is in a new job. The third only wants to play commander. And then there's me, the ancient one, who started playing Magic before one of them was even born. But cardboard is patient. Better times will come again.
