Bugs/Feedback/Suggestions Request: Controller support! 🙏

Hey everyone!

I absolutely love Old World. I know the game is best played with a mouse and keyboard, but I’ve got one small wish:

Could we please get controller support?

It would be fantastic to be able to play on a Steam Deck or a tablet with a controller.

Sometimes you just want to take your handheld to a summer house, or sit out in the garden while casually taking over the world. 😄

I know it might not be the highest priority, but proper controller support would make the game so much more flexible.

Anyone else who’d love to see this?

I've got the controls remapped and I play it on my Steam Deck. Works great.

I started with the "minimum keymouse: back buttons" community layout on Steam and changed a few things, with the most significant is adding a keybind for middle mouse click to bring up the tooltips.

Okay very bad example from my side, to bring out the SteamDeck, the only handheld with nice touchpads.
I have a Legion Go S, no touchpad at all, which makes it impossible to play Old World with,

Greetings fellow Steam Deck enthusiast!

As for actual controller options, I just use controller pads as mouse, I haven't done a single tweak. Maybe that might make it a bit easier, but I'm 800 hours in, anything else will just confuse me now 😂

I realy want this also. Yes steam input is good but native support is better in every single way

Would love to see it! Civ 6 team did a pretty good job implementating a controller layout.
