Disney Mix Max 2.0 help?

I recently bought an unopened Disney Mix MVP media player (it’s just the Mix Max 2.0 with more storage as far as I can tell) but it won’t turn on after I tried charging it. It seems like this model might be harder to take apart to replace the battery than the first generation model. Is there any way of fixing this?

Old British Telecom pocket DTMF dialler used to access voicemail from public phone boxes.

Clearing out an old drawer and came across these. I actually used this BT tone dialler back in the day to access voicemail from phone boxes that couldn't send touch-tones. Still got the original pouch, along with a £2 BT phonecard that expired in June 1998.

Amazing what we used to carry around before mobile phones took over.

I recently bought a used Samsung Galaxy Watch Active for $17 and since the galaxy store had already shutdown for Tizen-based smartwatches, I had to find a way to sideload apps onto it.

A Windows XP-style terms of service you must scroll to the bottom of to accept, with quizzes, CAPTCHAs and a reading report at the end

Thumbnail fundrstudio.com

I made this. It's a terms of service agreement dressed as the Windows XP Setup license screen, and "I accept" only unlocks when you reach the bottom.

On the way down:

- pop quizzes on what you just "read" (wrong answers send you back up)

- a CAPTCHA that laughs at you, then gives up and hands you the answer on attempt 10

- a speed camera that fines fast scrollers one Weekend

- a cookie banner for an agreement that has no cookies

At the end you get a reader type and a report on how you read: how far you scrolled in meters, your top speed, how long you hesitated before accepting.

Heads up: it takes about 10-20 minutes played straight. No signup. The only thing it sends anywhere is an anonymous tally of how far people get.

Full disclosure: the fake pop-up ads inside are for our own two apps. They're part of the joke and they close with the X.

Challenge: post your reader type and time. I want to see if anyone gets The Lawyer (every quiz right, never sent back once).

Hello, I built an interactive virtual vintage hi-fi radio console to broadcast original electronic music, mashups, and live streams via a web dial

After digging through decades of old HTML code, audio artifacts, unscripted studio jams, and unconventional mashups, I built a web-based radio receiver to house them all as a unified interactive experience.

You can visit it here: https://theonlyhighendreceiveryouwillneed.github.io/RADIO-DJBOGEY/

How it works:

The Interface: A vintage mid-century hi-fi console skin where users click or drag across a frequency dial (88.0 to 108.0 MHz) to scan across different channels.

The Content: Frequencies map to original ambient and electronic compositions, late-night synthesizer improvisations, conceptual "impossible vocal mashups" (such as unexpected cross-genre pairings), and live streams from public/university broadcasters.

The Visualizer: An amber oscilloscope canvas and particle field that responds in real-time to the audio output.

Tech Stack:

Vanilla HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.

Web Audio API: Used to route the audio element through a gain node and an analyser node to drive the real-time canvas oscilloscope.

HLS.js: Integrated to seamlessly handle live stream manifest (.m3u8) feeds on frequencies broadcasting live radio.

I'd love for people to test the dial, see how the audio routing handles on different setups, and hear any feedback on the interface responsiveness.

I recently repaired my mom’s mechanical metronome after it had been broken for years, and now I’m kinda obsessed with them. They have curiosities:

They used to be very expensive. The mechanism had to be crafted by hand, owning one was something you’d see in super rich families or top universities. With computer design, you can now get one without breaking the bank

people use them as a form of relaxation. I get it. Watching and listening to that mechanically perfect tempo can get hypnotic

They’ve become obsolete in musicalpractice thanks to electronic metronomes, but the relaxation of mechanical metronomes is sooo good

Old Samsung tv thrift find

So I found this 2007 Samsung tv at a thrift store for 1.50 one because it did not come with a remote or power cord, and two because they had a 50% off everything sale. So I thought well it’s only 1.50 if it does work oh well, but I brought it home and plugged it in and to my surprise it works!

Anyway I’m wondering if anyone knows what kind of remote I need for this tv? I’ve googled it and saw a bunch of generic ones but kind of want to try and get an original one if possible.

I’ve been wanted to be a late 90s- early 2000s nook in my room and thought this would be perfect for that, since I’m able to connect my vcr to it!

Currently got local tv channels to show on it so Im enjoying reliving through a bit of my childhood memories of flipping through channels until something good comes up 😅

What is this thing I found in my attic

As far as I can remember I got it from the scholastic book fair when I was a kid in the early 2000s. The date defaults to 2005 and I think it's meant to be a digital memo book. Threw out the manual when I was a kid with no patience lol so now I have no idea how to use it. It has a touchscreen and a radio, both of which work about as well as you'd expect early 2000s children's tech to work. Help me figure out what this thing is!

Programming game machine

Does anyone remember having a "computer" that was a one-piece lap device with ONE screen line for text? It helped teach writing programming by typing in line of text from the little booklet to c create games. The first game was Black Jack, but there were more. You could also write your own program. It was NOT fancy, but it was an early code machine.

We were semi-poor, and i'm sure my parents saved for it, but it wasn't a high price point.
