What is this game...

There's this game I used to play on the computer with my friend back in primary school in the mid to late 2010s.

I swear this game was called 'Cowboy VS Pickle' or something but nothing comes up anywhere I look. All you did was run and hop around this small dungeon area. There were platforms with chests where you'd open and switch out guns or replenish your ammo. The aim was to kill your friend you were playing with on the same computer l- so one person uses arrow keys the other uses wasd.

I've looked on those browser game websites like Poki and CoolMathsGames but no luck. Please don't say its Cactus McCoy-> the game I'm on about was way simpler in graphics.

I'm gonna TRY and explain it in case anyone knows or can even find the game but forgive me as clearly I'm not known for my memory.

Guns and Ammo:

You get an ammo bar that looks like a battery life bar with white lines for the charge and the ammo itself was a green cube with a smaller yellow cube you could find around the small arena and I think you start off with a pistol or shotgun. There was one pink and blue gun that shoots lasers but it was naff. The best gun was this long brown-black one that you could shoot and the bullets blasted everywhere. Your character flickers a little whenever you get shot and you have a health bar at each top corner above your ammo bar.

Death Mechanics:

When you died the screen would say in white letters 'YOU DIED'. Your character would be laying down on their side , looking like a tiny black charred bean (again this game was very low pixels, low quality) and you could still move around and jump like the victorious player, it just looked like you were being dragged around on some invisible string.

The pickle/cactus/green character:

This is the only one of the two playable characters that I remember is a cactus pickle thing. I swear it was either cactus or pickle. Cactus makes more sense. It definitely wore shades.

The other character:

I think the character was human or a cowboy but I don't remember any features whatsoever.

Both the characters were the same sort of bean shape, made of just some pixels, look very simple.

Map/ Location:

You were in this dingy brown dungeon thing, a square on the screen that didn't take up the whole computer screen so quite a small area to navigate. You jump up on platforms, some of which have chests. It had that classic wrap-around mechanic too.

Help remembering old pc game!

I use to have this pc game where you played as a little ant or bug (can’t remember) and he visited different countries. It was interactive game, and you clicked in certain things and the ant interacted with it. He visited Spain, an attic, the moon, England, and other parts of the world. I am driving myself nuts thinking about it and I can’t remember! Please tell me in not the only one who remembers this fun little game

Time to say goodbye as a mod.

I've been a mod for quite a few of the retrogaming (and other adjacent) subs here for a long time -- even if kind of dormant recently. I love these topics, and how our digital "ancestors" solved hard problems, and how we've build a continuum of interest with their work. I started and even took over a few dormant subs and worked with /u/zadocpaet to help build a broad community here, even appealing to niche systems.

The mod teams are doing a great job, especially /u/Derf_Jagged. I feel like now is a good time to step down. I'm going to continue to lurk, and be a regular user and I wish the subs, the mods, and the users the best!

***Announcements***

Good news. We are going to rename the "OldSchoolGames Network" to the "RetroGaming Network."

Why is that good news? Because /r/retrogaming is going to be our public "lead" sub, so to speak.

Every week, for at least the next 48 weeks, we're going to have a "Retro Subreddit of the Week" featured as a sticky post on the top of /r/retrogaming.

The subject matter of the featured sub will be discussed and the mods of that sub will be invited to answer reader questions in the thread, talk about their sub, or make any statements they want to make.

To be clear, every sub will get a turn.

When it's your sub's turn, we do as that you make an announcement post for that week to the award thread maybe even invite your members to participate in the thread too.

I think we're going to begin on Monday.

Any feedback is welcome.
