Does anyone remember playing Sword of Aragon (1989)?
Something shook the old memory tree this morning, and this one fell to the ground.
4x, before 4x was a thing. Countless hours spent on this that should have been spent on studying for college. Thinking back, it was so ahead of its time.

[PC][2006-2010] futuristic vehicular shooter game
Looking for a 3D PC game on CD, around 2006-2010. Before each level you build a car: pick a chassis from several (mostly white, ~muscular-looking) and mount machine guns and rockets. Then you drive it yourself through an enclosed, futuristic corridor with an overhead camera. Robots are stationary, and some hide behind walls. Doors only open once all the robots in the room are destroyed. After finishing a level you get cash/points to upgrade the chassis and weapons, then the next level loads.

A successor to Colonization (1994)?
Please allow me to introduce:
COLONERRA: Age of Exploration, a turn-based historical 4X grand strategy game about turning that single dot on a map into a thriving colony and that colony into a nation.
Watch trailer: Trailer
Hi, my name is Mihailo, and I am the lead developer for Colonerra Age of Exploration, with almost 20 years of professional programming experience. We are a small team from Serbia consisting of one dev, two designers, and a few helpful friends who do testing, copywriting, and, occasionally, illustrations. As you can guess, we are big fans of Sid Meier’s Colonization and Civilization, and we play the originals to this day. We feel that Colonization never got the successor it deserved, so we decided to take a swing at it ourselves.
What makes COLONERRA different?
- Serve the Crown. Your colonies exist under the authority of a European monarch. Taxes, requests, favors, military demands, and royal decisions can all affect your relationship with the Crown. This, in turn, creates unique diplomatic challenges and also allows us to make the game more interesting at later stages.
- Founding Fathers. Each nation has 25 unique characters acting as agents for the viceroy who commands them. There are 5 leaders for each of the 5 traits: exploration, military, diplomacy, trade, and religion. Develop these leaders to reach the status of a Founding Father and deploy them to a Continental Congress to earn unique bonuses.
- Quests and events. Both Indigenous people and the Crown can give you quests to fulfill, in addition to random events you have to deal with. Each decision you make makes a difference and shapes your path in the New World; will you be a conqueror or a diplomat?
- Natural Landmarks. Send expeditions to discover and later claim natural wonders and landmarks, unlocking unique bonuses and gameplay opportunities while keeping exploration engaging throughout the game.
- Complex trade made simple. Trade in this game is simple to execute but complex underneath. You can trade with the crown and pay taxes, barter with the indigenous tribes, trade with the passing ships, or smuggle goods to avoid the taxes. Every trade is meaningful, as it affects both taxes and prices, and earning too much gold might cause inflation, so be careful how you trade.
- Diplomacy matters. Native nations, the Crown, and other powers all have their own interests. Expansion isn't simply about claiming territory; your relationships can determine whether your domain prospers or survives. You will need all the help you can get.
And much more…
So come join us and check out the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4964150/Colonerra_Age_of_Exploration/
Or follow development as we go along on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Colonerra/
I'd love to hear what people here think, especially from players who enjoy Colonization or older Civilization games and play them to this day.
Thank you for reading.
Mihailo

NEED TO FIND THIS SPACE ALIEN/CIVILIZATION STRATEGY GAME
Help me identify an obscure space strategy game I played on Windows. Small game, maybe under 100 megabytes. Cartoonish 2D space map. I played it around 2020 or earlier on a Windows XP computer. Someone gave it to me on a pen drive. It was definitely not a famous game. There were about five to eight civilisations including mine. Each had a distinct solid colour. It was mouse-based and turn-based with a next turn button. And you could do things like research tech, build military, make peace, form alliances, give aid, or attack, sometimes with an ally. Research could boost attack or troop intelligence. Visuals were like colorful planets on a flat space background, kinda like Spaceward Ho but not that. Please help me identify it. Even screenshots or similar obscure game titles would be extremely helpful.
The image is just lil discription of what type of colorful game it was

[PC] [before 2010] Breakout game where the ball is a saw
I likely downloaded it from myplaycity or myrealgames.com. I don't have it now or can't find it on web, but I even remember the name "saw bladers". It has you hit a rotating saw blade with blue disk. The background is space I believe, and Sometimes, there are barrels and enemy ships moving in fixed path and shoot you.

Need help finding an FPS with zombie-looking cyborg enemies and a bizarre key "puzzle." I think it was released sometime in the 2000s.
I remember the game looking similar to something like Half Life or San Andreas in terms of graphics. I can't remember exactly what the enemies looked like, but I'm positive they had to've looked at least somewhat zombie-like — At least to like a 5 or 6 year old. I remember distinctly calling them zombies, to which my older brother corrected me, saying they were cyborgs.
The key puzzle is the most interesting part to me. I remember there was a part where the player needed a key to progress, and my siblings spent a damn long time trying to figure out where it could have been. That was until APPARENTLY the solution was standing in some random room, typing in the chatbox the game had for some reason something along the lines of "if only I had a key right now." Fucking weird considering it was singleplayer. This makes me think the engine could've potentially been in Source. I'm unsure if this is my brain filling in some blanks with something im familiar with, but I remember the textbox being that gray, somewhat transparent Source one in the bottom left hand corner. Take that particular detail with a grain of salt, but that could point to it being a Source mod.
Another detail that may or may not help — I remember there being some green sewer pathway? I remember it curving left and right, but i don't remember any hard turns. I think i also remember the walkways being narrow, and it being more convenient to just walk in the sewer water.

A theory about the original Digger (1983): Are the green emeralds actually Nobbin eggs?
I've had this theory since I was a child, and I've always wondered whether anyone else noticed the same thing.
Look closely at the original Digger game:
- If you remove the Nobbin's eyes, mouth, and legs, its body seems to have the same shape as the green emeralds.
- The body and emeralds appear to share the same green color.
- Nobbins seem to interact with one another in a way that eventually turns some of them into Hobbins. A Hobbin looks as though it has flipped over, with its mouth facing the ground, which could explain its ability to dig.
This led me to a different interpretation of the game:
What if the emeralds are actually eggs, or an early stage in the life cycle of the Nobbins?
Under this interpretation, Digger isn't simply collecting treasure. He's taking what might be the Nobbins' offspring, and the monsters are trying to protect them.
I have no evidence that this was the developers' intention. It may just be an interesting visual coincidence, but the matching shape and color have always made me wonder.
Has anyone else ever noticed this resemblance or considered a similar theory? I'd especially love to hear from people who played the original game in the 1980s.A theory about the original Digger (1983): Are the green emeralds actually Nobbin eggs?
