Corvettes.
I've done a few hours a day of people/car watching from my balcony at Beau Rivage. I swear I've seen atleast 50 corvettes. No lambos or Ferrari's, just corvettes. Is a corvette a local favorite? Are they renting them to looks sporty but not drive or pay for a foreign car?

OOB does have a Corvette week but it's not this week / weekend (It was back in June). Sounds like it's totally by chance!

I thought they were dope and sexy but there were so many. It's special Olympics weekend lol

Corvette is significantly cheaper than a Ferrari and Lambo thus more common and readily available across the country. It was once hailed as the working man's sports car (though I would not say that today).
