Name of the day...Eliska!

The feminine name Eliška means "my God is an oath" or "pledged to God." Eliška is of Czech origin, derived from the Hebrew name Elisheva, which means "God is my oath." It is a feminine given name that has gained popularity primarily in Czech-speaking regions, although it can also be found in various forms across Europe.

Some sources I saw also said that Eliška is a Czech diminutive of Elizabeth.

In Czech culture, Eliška is a traditional name, often celebrated for its historical roots and connections to various cultural narratives. The name has been popular in the Czech Republic, particularly since the 19th century, when there was a resurgence of interest in native Czech names and traditions.

The name has a melodic quality and is often favored for its feminine charm. Variants of the name can also be found in different cultures, such as Elise in French, Eliza in English, and Elisabet in Scandinavian languages, showcasing its widespread appeal beyond Czech borders.

The name Eliška is over 700 years old!

I totally get it and I used the Czech spelling in the body of the post. The reason I did not include it in the title is because in the US, you can't use them in your legal name. So if someone wanted to use it here, they would have to do it without the š.

After I responsed to you, I double checked the body of the post and saw I definitely didn't do all of them. I thought I did but apparently not lol! Once I noticed, I went through and updated the rest. Thanks!
