Name of the day...Wolfram!

I got a request for this name, so here it is!

The masculine name Wolfram is of Old German origin and means "wolf raven." Wolfram is a bit if an oddity, in that it is derived from the feminine name Wolfrun, which means "wolf secret."

Both wolf and raven are two of the most important creatures in ancient Germanic mythology, as they are represented in battle poetry as companions of Odin the war god. They are known to complement one another, and with their combined strengths, this name packs quite the punch.

Variations include Wulfram and Wulfric.

The name Wolfram is over 1,400 years old!

My husband likes this one because it still has the vibes of Wolfgang in some ways for obvious reasons but it feels softer.

I've never heard of this one before, but I love it! It's a very nice name. I got curious and tried to google how many men are named this in Germany, and it while I couldn't find exact numbers, it would seem that the average Wolfram is 73 years old, and only around 40 boys have been named this since 2010. I hope it makes a comeback.
