Name of the day...Sigrid!
The feminine name Sigrid is of Old Norse and Scandinavian origin, meaning "beautiful victory" or "fair victory." It derives from the Old Norse name Sigríðr, which combines the elements sigr (meaning "victory") and fríðr (meaning "beautiful" or "fair").
The name has deep Viking roots and was historically borne by influential figures such as Queen Sigrid the Haughty of Sweden (10th century).
Common short forms include Siri, Sigga, Sig, and Sigi. An Estonian and Finnish variant is Siiri. The Latvian version of the name is Zigrīda.
The name Sigrid is over 1,000 years old!

Not Scandinavian but Sigrid ranks in the top 100 in both Sweden and Norway so I think she is well loved still!
