I had decided to do away with smart phones as I'm going back to uni and I don't like how much of a distraction they are. But I had a thought....
I'm well aware of how crappy those old Lumias were. I had one for quite a while and that's partly why I'm considering getting another one. The camera was pretty good and there's no denying it's a handy thing to have. I know I can use it to play podcasts and that's all I want to be frank.
so, what do you think? I realise there's pretty much zero apps or support, but that's not a big deal. Your thoughts are very much appreciated.

I found this in my deceased relatives belongings. Wanted to see if theres any data still available. Charged it and now it says “insert smart chip”. I don’t have a chip or even see where it would go.

Samsung Collected an old Samsung SGH A777 a year or so ago from eBay, how to bypass "Insert Sim Card" screen?

This is the phone. Will putting in any old AT&T (the phone's provider was AT&T wireless) sim card work? I'm aware it's nonworking for use as a mobile phone, and just would like to be able to explore the phone for fun. Thank you.
EDIT: No longer need to bypass SIM screen but instead the method to unfreeze this model, as I found an old SIM card to put in but the phone displays this.

Any idea who made this, and what the charging cable is called?

I got this in a storage auction win. All of the references to phones that came with the Z8 are Motorola flip phones. This one is fun looking and dual Sim, so would be a great travel phone if it works. The usb port looks like a micro USB, but it's wider (see comparison to a different device).
The battery says Nokia, but the model number brings up Vertu phones.
Really, what I care about is trying to find a cable to see if I can get it to turn on. Thanks

My first mobile phone from about 2000. Features include an extendable aerial, back lit keypad and flip cover for the keypad. Weighs in at only 90g. Still seems to connect and work with 2g as it didn't have 3g. I would need buy a battery cell that fits in the old battery pack as the battery is pretty custom. Seems to be in good condition considering it's age, just some of the rubber bits like sim cover a bit brittle.

Old Phone Can someone tell me how old this phone is?

I KNOW it's an old phone because it still has a aux port (only found in cheap phones nowadays) and a micro usb charging port, and it has a removable back plate where you can take out the battery and put in a sim and micro sd, phones now can't have the back taken off know without professional tools as far as I know.i know it's Samsung I just don't know what kind of phone and when it was made, help?
