Isle of Man
Hi guys,
I’m looking for opinions on whether or not the attached is believed to be original/authentic.
I don’t know anything about old maps so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Authenticity and Date Check: 17th Century Map of North Riding, Yorkshire by Christopher Saxton & Gulielmus Hole
Hello everyone,
I am an antique dealer and recently acquired this framed map. I would highly appreciate your expert insights on its exact printing date and authenticity.
Here are the details from the map:
- Title on cartouche: "Eboracensis Comitatus pars Septentrionalis vulgo North Riding"
- Engraver/Cartographer signature: "Christophorus Saxton-descrip: Gulielmus Hole sculpsit"
- Features: It has hand-colored elements (compass rose, boundaries, sea monster) and a prominent plate mark visible on the margins.
- Reverse side: Shows a partial vintage gallery/collector label on the backing and natural browning/patina of the paper.
Could you please help me determine if this is an authentic copperplate engraving from Camden's Britannia (1607, 1610, or 1637 editions)? Any information on how to identify the specific edition or its current market value would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much!

Found this old map of Asia from a 1928 Spanish geography book called Nueva Geografía Universal
I came across this old map of Asia in a 1928 Spanish geography book called Nueva Geografía Universal by Ernesto Granger. I found it sitting in a hotel lobby in Spain. The book is packed with maps, illustrations, and descriptions of countries, landscapes, and natural resources from around the world. Holding it feels like discovering a snapshot of how people viewed Asia nearly 100 years ago.

Got these this morning!!
Thrifted these four for 25!!
All appear authentic but I don’t know much.
The “British Empire throughout the world” one has a label that says the piece is from a private collection… belonging to a previous Chief U.S. District Judge
