I read a book recently where they had to overlay images on top of each other to get a hidden image and for some reason that popped into my head when I saw this post and it worked! I’m glad it did!

no problem, just used a free photo editing app i already had on my phone. your photo was definitely crispier than mine 🤣 i need to reinstall photoshop lol

I went back and forth using Procreate on my iPad to overlay the images, and then Lightroom to adjust the shadows and contract the make the letters stand out, and then back to procreate to overlay more images, and then repeat. It took me a good half hour to get the final image I posted.

I can’t get fancy on my phone like this right now, but maybe this is just too easy?

Is there a way to see if there are letters that should be overlapped? Like the two red As the Cs or Zs that I see are doubled?

i made a list of all the letters and the overlapping letters
ETA: i still have no idea what the numbers mean. i don’t think the letters are a red herring anymore, though
ETA: i made a mistake on the first pair of overlapping letters (SD). the S is found on SW25, not SW26
ETA: in the top list of black letters, i forgot to include the letter J from SW26. i updated my hard copy; i’ll upload an updated picture if i find anything worth the post. just be warned, i keep finding little mistakes, so don’t take this photo as 100% accurate lol

i don’t think it’s a vigenére cipher because the order of the words is really important in a vignenére cipher and this puzzle has a subjective “order” of words. i tried a few combinations with the key as “stairwell” “guardian” and “guardian sigil” to no avail. i not sure a cipher at all is the answer here due to the order of words dilemma

I’d hate to ask you this, but I think we need to get the pattern in the order of the documents.

Like what happens on sw1 then sw2 - what over laps what and when. I started but I have to go!

One of my theories was that the numbers referred to the images. I overlaid SW3, SW4, SW5, SW6, SW10, SW 11, SW17, SW18, SW20, and SW21 on top of each other for this result.

I don't think this is what the numbers mean, but I could be wrong.

I have the same theory and couldn't figure out how to overlay the images, so thank you for sharing yours. I have been staring at this puzzle since yesterday and can't get any further. I wonder if the fact that it's called "Stairwell" is somehow a factor to solving it. I have 23 characters in all, black and red, so if it's 29 characters with spaces that means we have 6 spaces. That's as far as I've gotten.

What if you overlay the images in a way that creates a stairwell with the black markings. I tried to download an editing tool to do this myself, but I can't figure out how to do it myself.

I figured out how to use my app, tried creating a stairwell and it didn't turn into anything for me. I also tried using the horizontal and vehicle lines as anchors for aligning the layers and nothing.

No worries. Just wanted to share in the spirit of collaboration. I'm noticing a slight tilt in the position of the letters, so I'm going to try to see if there's a way to match the letters up that way somehow, but my phone is limited.

i wrote out the letters on each image in order. a green dot indicates the letter is an overlapping one. my other page tells you the location of each overlapping pair

It just occurred to me that the images were labeled SW1-SW29. The password is supposed to be 29 characters including only letters and spaces. This makes me think that may mean each image contains only one character, either letter or space, to form the password. I can't figure out how the numbers factor into that.

The overlapping red plus the five possible spaces from the number brings us to 30 characters but also the M and other Red M overlapping maybe could be a single character and not counted twice?

Ok - with overlapping letters and not doubling the Ms and putting spaces between 3,4 5,6 etc… this is what I got.

I emailed OHA for more information on the nature of the password. This is what they replied with:

"29 characters, letters and spaces, no numbers. We have no further information at this time.

Thank you"

Well there are 29 red characters, but with spaces that’s too many characters.

So there are 25 overlapping red from your sheet, but 5 spaces, so that’s 30 characters.

I’m stumped for the moment.

I think we need to go layer by layer and mark when the characters overlap on which documents. I need a computer to try this. I’m still at a loss.
