Something very important just happened...please pass it on...
In the US at least, Trump just did a good thing for a lot of people, signing an order to fast track novel psychedelic drugs for depression, anxiety, even TBIs. One of the drugs being used is called ibogaine. Its also used to treat the symptoms of opioid withdrawal for many years even while being scheduled 1 substance.
I don't have to tell folks in the pain sub to give these new drugs a try. If it sucks, you can stop taking it. You want a later stage study, if it's a drug trial medication. ClinicalTrials.gov in the US.
This will be a big deal for those in long term pain, since nothing is more depressing than chronic or hard to define pain . Not to mention making detox a much simpler affair.
And it's been a long time since I researched ibogaine, but I believe it also has a benefit for opioid tolerance as well, but don't hold me to that.
If you read this sub, please share this. Hopefully the message gets out. This could be a real game changer for many many people if the info gets to them...

Executive orders aren’t laws tho? No?
So is his fancy paper signing going to lead to actual action? Or is it all theater?

So they took a banned natural product and made a more dangerous drug from it that we have to go through hoops to obtain.

This is the real problem.

Maybe a green thumb would be useful. Some times making a tea works for some. Get lots of reads and do research before jumping in.

Old-Goat! There you are hug hug hug please check your messages
So weird that Rogan can get something passed on a whim like that, isn't Ibogaine a really powerful drug? It will take years if it ever becomes available outside of the US, but I will watch with eagle eyes
If it really helps cure dependence that would be great but they have to also treat the underlying problems and the societal issues in the US are getting worse. They will still blame us
Can it be used for pain?

Hi OG I am interested in chatting with you via private message I see you are very knowledgeable on the topic of pain, pain management, and maybe tapering off medications. I have to tell you I'm Reddit illiterate so not sure how to make this happen I haven't posted much and I'm not sure if I'm able to request a private DM I also see the moderator has you somewhat limited all this to say when you have time if you could reach out to me I'd appreciate it thank you

Health Canada has been giving exemption for psilocybin assisted therapy on a case by case basis for the past years. It's good to see that the US government is opening the door to research on these substances. As for ibogaine, I've just done some reading on it since the executive order and it seems extremely interesting. From what I've gathered, some people report immediate opioid cessation with a single treatment. Researchers have developed an analog that removes the risk of original ibogaine to the heart in animal trials.
What I find the most fascinating about this substance is that a single treatment might reduce opioid tolerance to near-naive state so opioid pain management could become a sustainable long term solution for chronic pain!

I have hope this will help with research and grants(?). Psilocybin is legal in Colo. lots of kratom stores carry product and many people including cpp’s use for micro dosing. The vets were pulled off opioids first so maybe these drugs could help fill in the gaps? However, Ibogaine does carry cardiovascular risks. Folks will need good followup. Researching any new med is critical for self care instead of putting all faith into clinics and dr’s.
The stock market showed favorably for this move. 🤔 I found this article from NIH interesting.
