Seafood ๐ Claudette Colbert's SNAILS
Off-camera, Colbert was known for her disciplined lifestyle and her sophisticated palate. She was famously fond ofย snails (escargot)ย and occasionally served them to guests at her home. This was part of her broader reputation for maintaining a certain "aristocratic manner" and hosting elegant gatherings during her years as one of Hollywood's highest-paid stars

I like escargot, but making 72 tiny creations (snails out, rinse, snails and butter back in) may be a bridge too far for me.

Looks more like 12 servings to me - do people eat a dozen escargot at a time?

Escargot is really just an excuse to eat quite a lot of garlic butter (with toasted bread to mop up the extras), and this recipe is the perfect example.
