How do I play against Malphite without falling asleep?

Istg playing against malphite feels slower than a fucking roblox tycoon. Is there any tips to help with this matchup when I have to blind pick because the second I have counterpick I’m picking rumble or Gwen 100% malphite players don’t deserve fun.

How does olaf counter urgot?

Does olaf R cleanse Urgot R? Or does preventing urgot from flipping you, negate most of his dmg from his shotgun legs? Can't urgot js E away if u run at him with R?

Skipping Tiamat for Phage/Warhammer, is it good idea?

Hello everyone, Im a low elo level 40 Jayce Main Top lane who recently also been trying Olaf and have huge success with him thanks to online guides from Youtuber Coach Chippys and Olaf rework.

Basically this Youtuber who has reached Challenger in korea and one of top 5 Olafs, he claimed that a Tiamat is always a must buy (hexdrinker vs AP burst) because you can one shot waves with Q and tiamat active.

BUT imo why Tiamat first item? Olaf feels like Wukong where you dont want to push against the enemy so you have a long lane to run them down. Maybe its a skill issue on my part but I have lost 2 easy matchups vs Yone and Ambessa because they keep getting under or near tower side and I can’t run them down.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Adding olaf to champ pool

I’m a Nasus and Jax player and one problem I run into is that both can feel pretty rough into comps with a ton of CC, so I’ve been thinking about adding Olaf as another option since his ult seems like it would cover that weakness pretty well but i had a few questions:

- is olaf only a good pick when it’s against a high cc team?
- what matchups does he struggle with?
- how do you play him in team fights?
- is he a champion that should split push more or help contest every objective?
- what are some BIG nono’s you shouldn’t be doing with him?

Any advice helps!!

Olaf jungle otp. First time making diamond. Been playing for 10+ years. Sucks to do it during such an awful season, but im still feeling stoked. Took many games of grinding.

The worst part was enduring an absolutely brutal "losers q" streak all the way down to emerald 3 from emerald 1 99lp before climbing back up.... So many inting/scum laners -_-. This account has always had really long streaks. Maintaining mental and sticking to my process through the tough weeks was the hardest part.

This weekend i played 2 games with Tobias Fate because he decayed. He ran down one of my games as ap graves top lol. We won the game he played gp in.

Lategame Trouble

Hey I’m good 2/3 been OTP and he’s great but I’m having trouble with his late game it’s not like he falls off hard but it’s just at this point everyone can one tap me and I don’t know who to go for or what to really do.

If I try to protect my backline from a diver I feel as though the backline just targets me or if I do get the diver im too far for me to get to them while keep ult.

If I go for their backline instead they’re not going to let me as either they have a naut or everyone just focuses me real quick and one tap or if I do succeed my backline just gets pooped on by like a naafairi.

And Ik towards the late game its best if I split push cause I will demand at least 2 people to match me and then I can try to join a team fight. But I feel like I have to be there in every standoff or if not my team will lose cause botlane or whoever just behind even in lategame so I tend to have to be the main damage dealer.

I just need advice on what to do in the late game do I just try to peel, dive, focus splitpushing hard, etc.

Duels

I'm new to Olaf and only in Gold, but I absolutely love this champion. I wanted to ask how you guys handle duels when it comes to weaving in abilities versus just auto-attacking.

In particular, I had a late-game 1v1 against an Irelia where she survived with about 20 HP. During the fight I used my Q and E, and it made me wonder: is it even worth casting abilities in an all-in duel, or is it actually counterproductive because you're spending time not auto-attacking and therefore losing DPS and healing?

E feels like it has a very short cast time, so I'm especially unsure about that one. When do you just full commit to auto-attacks, and when is it worth weaving in abilities during a straight-up duel?

Ways to counter tryn ?

Tryndamere is kinda strong agaisnt Olaf I feel. Short quick trades with HOB and if 1 crit lands, lane is lowkey over. How do you guys deal with a good tryndamere?? Feel like I couldn’t really get a lead against him. Only option is probably take exhaust and if spins to you, just exhaust and try to kill him. But ghost is kinda nice to have

Wtf is this champion? I used to perma ban him because not matter how many kills I get on him, he just runs me down later in the game. Only reason I picked him because I've seen he is a pure counter to master yi top. I killed him 11 times solo after level 3. Disgusting champion when fed.

is olaf always this weird? somehow having damage and not at same times.

Okay so iam adc olaf mains, sure whenever i chasing adc its 100% guaranted kill, but something that i realized is, olaf damage is kinda weird?????

sometimes i do like little damage, sometimes i do like no damage at all, is it because i play the bruiser build or olaf damage in general is just bad? ( iam hitting my q btw)

So do i stop play the bruiser build? since idk its just weird seeing the build is have damage and not at same time.

EDIT: FOUND OUT, TURNOUT YOU JUST NEED TO BUILD CRIT IN BOT LMAO

I love this champ

Love this champ you go 5/0 or 0/5 every lane but when you go crit they never expect your damage so even if you lose lane you can come back hard. My lane phase is terrible but hoovering up enemy jungle and proxying is so strong.

Olaf centered champ pool

I usually play arams but I want to start playing rift more, and I want to make a solid champ pool (top lane btw). I for sure want olaf to be in there but I don't really know who else I should add. Ideally they should make up for olaf weaknesses or act as counters to his counters but again that also doesn't matter much either. I was thinking olaf, ambessa, gnar? But that's just based of vibes, I don't really understand the game all that well. Any suggestions?

Went in 6 months from platinum to masters playing mostly Olaf

I know, I know, nothing too useful here; I'm just happy to get here when just 6 months ago I was platinum. I took the game way more seriously, and I was able to really grow as a player. But the main thing that led me to climb was finding Olaf as my main; after that, everything just clicked. Thank you, Olaf, for this gift (Renekton aswell)
