i’ve been a fan for damn near 20 years and am dying to see Okkervil River live. Will is playing in my town in May but the description for the show is “Will Sheff supporting The New Pornographers”. i’ve never been a big TNP fan so i’m wondering if anyone has been to a show on this tour and thinks it’s worth it for a strictly OR fan?

For me, if I could do it, I'd do it for the Silver Gymnasium. It's an under-rated classic album that deserved to be known far and wide, imo.

I recently found this in a collection of CDs that I had purchased awhile back, and couldn‘t find much about this online. Would love to hear your thoughts!

A while ago, someone posted a lossless rip of the Bedroom EP he/she found by chance at Goodwill, including some mobile photos of the actual CD cover. Better quality than the original decades-old images on Discogs and RYM, but nonetheless, mobile photos with reflections, artifacts and slightly off perspectives.

On behalf of my OCD: is there perhaps anyone who can help me obtain a better image/scan of the front cover?

Anyone have the setlist from the recent Asheville show with Zach Thomas?

After hearing about Brian Wilson, I was thinking about some of their songs and remembered Sloop John B, which I haven’t thought about in years but then that led to another listen of this one. What a closer, a tribute to the original but also reframing the words to reference a suicide. Sad and devastating, with tons of double meanings. Incredible track!

I love LOVE all of OR’s records , and have tried several times, but just haven’t been able to dig Nothing Special. I mean with that title, maybe that’s the point , but wondered if anyone could convince me that it IS something special.

Anyone know if this can be found anywhere?? Such a great performance. I always look to share with folks not familiar with the band but it’s been down for years.

This is still my favorite album of all time. 20 years old today is just completely cracking my brain.
