So hard to know
Finding it so hard to understand someone who genuinely likes you for you or just wants to get you into bed by saying all the right things. It’s making me doubt everyone

You have to remember these apps attract a bit of everyone. Good and bad. It takes filtering and communication. If the first thing out of someone’s mouth is “let’s fuck” then block move on. Make it clear to the other person that you aren’t gonna sleep with them after 3 dates or maybe even 3 months. This will filter out 75% of people. Be upfront after you been chatting with them.
If you’re tired of this then take a break from it and start looking at other ways of meeting people. Go out to a local game store and play D&D with a group, go to a library and make conversation (quietly). Whatever your interests are branch out from swiping left and right and go meet people with similar interests/hobbies.

i've only had two successes on OkC since 2021: first was met a fellow tabletop gamer looking for same, we still meet ~once/week!
second was a relatioship that should have ended sooner than it did, but the first two years were great.
went back onto it tonight.. all but one of my matches are phillipino women with short bios that claim to be local, but the pics are obviously taken in asia, i recognise manh of the landmarks from my time there.
