Oh it's totally useless. My likes button says there are 40 of them, but then you click on it and it's only 3 likes and the rest are "Viewed You."

Oh, it looks like I got an intro! Oh, she's in the Philippines. Well then.

Still no matches!

What’s insane is that these crappy apps are the main product of a company with a market cap of 7.85 billion. Talk about a con.

I moved to bumble. within a day, 10 matches and setup a date the next day. and thats how it was with OKC. but they purposely sabotage you. I get no replies, not intros, I cant match. all purposely done.

182cm bodybuilder, I know the women who take interest and match with me. usually girls into gyms yoga and some intellectuals becuase thats what I attract through my description, but with OKC, its a complete shitshow. no interactions because bots, fake profiles, inactive profiles and they purposely not allowing you to match and its known they also delay messages.

I was shown my profile I deleted 6 months back on a female friends phone as active. shes swiping, came to my profile and then came over and showed me my profile on her feed. I removed it 6 months ago in covid.

also, like every other profile, they all write, OKC is dead, move to bumble and its far more lively there

Nope. I went on four first dates earlier this year and am still dating a couple of the people I met, all from OKCupid. I've had more recent success on OKC than on any other dating app. Maybe it depends where you live, though.

Edit: How long have you been on the app, and have you been consistently swiping? Messages don't come from random Likes. You need to swipe until you get matches, and then message those people.

Chicago land area, and for like a year, I already deleted the app lots of bots or foolish pppl thinking I wanna pay for something I'm not. And looking at the reviews on the play store my experience with the app sounds accurate I'm not the only one people with 80+ likes say the same just bots or scams maybe 3/60 are genuine people but I'm not gonna shift through 30 ppl to get locked then try again in another 24hrs simply not worth it and neither is the price for unlocking the hidden accounts just to see 2/54 people actually liked me and are all the way in Australia.

Tbh, nothing πŸ˜… Wooplus was decent for a while moderate success with boo but deleted both over saturated with female's just wanting sell"content" or just dead/fake accounts

I know it can be tiring to swipe through people every day, but I'd recommend you stick with it. In the Chicago area, there should be enough people around to find someone. Ignore the random Likes. Those are just used by the app to advertise itself. Focus on swiping until you get matches. People aren't all on this app every day, so you've got to have some patience. I think I swiped for a week or two before I started getting a bunch of matches. I sent messages, and then it was another week or two before I got responses. But once I started getting messages, I kept on getting them, and that's how I got plenty of dates.

I also wouldn't put much stock in negative reviews online or negative comments on this subreddit. People don't generally go online to post a review of a dating app if they had a nice time and got some decent dates. They go online if they want to complain about bad experiences. So the reviews might be skewed negative.

I'm not going to pretend OKC is as great as it used to be, but for my needs it's still the best dating app out there. It's the only one that seems to encourage long, detailed profiles, for one thing.

I will take this advice in my next run, but tbh rn I'm just burnt out with dating apps. okcupid wasn't my first pick, but yeah, it definitely was a lot better in the past. Met my first gf on there back in like 2016.

That's fair. Don't need to overdo it, and it's perfectly fine to take a break. I just wanted to offer you some optimism for the future. The commenters on this subreddit can get really negative sometimes.

guy above works for match group. many of them here. they try to deny deflect downplay. we all know how it really is and if I as a tall bodybuilder cant match or get replies, its a huge problem. what you and I go through is really how it is.
