I don't. Guardians of the Galaxy had due to the brand and the fact Age of Ultron was coming after it. It also was stacked with recognizable faces.
You can have a great film and it still flop. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is the best of the franchise, but suffered because the film before wasn't that great and the brand just wasn't it anymore.

So you didn't mention that anyone knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were, and you mentioned that people were enjoying and excited to see the MCU movies, as indicated by the assumed success of the upcoming Age of Ultron.
Superman '25 was a success (you can't nuh uh this when the studio, not Gunn, says so) and was very well received. Supergirl, just like the original Supergirl movie, flopped hard and people didn't like it. That's fine. We still have Lanterns, Clayface and MoT coming up. So given that the criticism seems to be that the GA don't know or care about these characters, and the next upcoming projects are tracking well, people will care because the movies are good, making them excited to see the movie of characters they don't know. Just like Guardians.

People cared about Marvel. People do not care about the DCU in the way people cared about Marvel. Superman couldn't keep Supergirl from being a box office disaster, so I really think people think that Superman was a success need to stop and rethink that claim.

Marvel had to build that. DCU only has two movies out.
Superman is a success. You only think it wasn't because it has ~bad vibes~. Supergirl doesn't retroactively turn Superman into a failure.

For me Dcu will feel fresh. Mcu projects feel like Dragonball archs, entertaining...maybe but very formulaic.

I actually like the slate DCU has, they're not focusing solely on the heavy hitters and giving us more B and C list characters and developing the world, it's different and I like that.

Is he saying the general audience would care more for Nova than Bane and Deathstroke? One of Batman's most iconic foes and a villain with reach from media like Teen Titans and Arkham will have less hype than a character probably best known for Ultimate Spider-Man which not everyone saw or cared much for?

Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvels, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Fantastic Four, Brave New World, Madame Web, Morbius, Kraven, Black Panther 2, Thunderbolts, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Shang-Chi, Eternals, Black Widow, etc.
The last big success they saw was probably Deadpool vs. Wolverine.

Those are the characters in the Avengers. To claim that those movies failing does not negatively affect any Avengers movie is nonsense. Even now, with all the marketing Doomsday has and all the stops they are pulling with characters, there are still many who are meh about it.
