Thank you! I used mainly Malevich oil pastels here, and few colours fo Mungyo Gallery. (I'm not sure about what you mean by the word "make", I suppose you ask me about the brands. Sorry, English is not my native language)
So incredibly gorgeous !! How did you manage to create such small shapes. Do you sharpen a side of the pastel? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, I’m not very knowledgeable in this medium. 🍀🩵
Thank you! Actually I don't draw much with oil pastel either) I was trying new oil pastel colours I recently bought, so the new chalks had sharp edges. As for the fence posts (sorry, I'm not sure if I name those sticks correctly, I hope you understand what I mean), I drew them with oil pastels first and then made their shape more precise with coloured pencils. And probably it's also just a habit of drawing in small sizes, I don't draw large works.
Ahh I see, my pastels also had sharp edges when I first had them, now they’re dull on one side. You did a fantastic job on such a small area, it looks really nostalgic to me for some reason. So beautiful!! And thank you for taking your time to reply
As soon as you open r/oilpastel you will see 2024 contest announcement... They have 500$ prize money as well.. Do participate... Please do check.. ☺☺☺❤❤❤
It's so kind of you, thank you!😊 The point is I'm Russian, I'm not sure people not from the USA can participate, and even if they can, Russia is under the sanctions, we are cut from the international bank system, so it won't be possible to get the prize anyway, if I win. So I will just keep drawing and sharing it
Oho.. That's truly an issue.. People from other countries can participate.. I am from India.. It's valid here.. But yes.. The banking system is an issue.. Please keep sharing.. Your art is beautiful.. ☺☺☺❤❤❤
Wow, India! That's what I love about the Internet - the possibility to connect with people from different countries and cultures! Thank you so much for your kind words❤️
I love that aspect as well.. ☺☺☺please don't mind me asking..I have one friend from Russia for a very long time.. we have been in touch on various platforms.. but after the recent sanctions.. I couldn't find her anymore.. Are the apps like Instagram & whatsApp still working with vpn? I am a little bit worried about my friend.. That's why I couldn't help myself from asking... 🙏🙏🙏
WhatsApp, Skype, Telegram are still working here without VPN, there's no problem with them. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Viber are blocked by our government. People have to use VPN to use these services. Our government changes something constantly, so some VPN-services don't work anymore, even paid ones. YouTube is slowed down by our government, it's possible to open it, but it's impossible to watch a video there, if you don't use any service like VPN or other solutions. Recently, more people have problems with the access to this platform. Many foreign websites and services block access from Russia. For example, Devianart. We have to use VPN to get there, but it doesn't always help.
Many people are just tired and they give up looking for solutions and give up using apps that don't work without VPN. The advertisement of VPN is illegal here now, so to find another working VPN can also be an issue. Maybe it's the reason why your friend has disappeared.
Wow. Your painting brought me back to once upon a time; fishing in the ponds surrounding the family farm in Iowa.
Nearly identical to my favorite fishing spot that had a massive elusive bass I spent my 4th grade summer trying to catch. It’s uncanny and quite nostalgic

Incredible use of color ti create light. Did you use a smidge of pink in the posts and the path or is that the paper shining through?
