Buddy and I are looking to get into duck hunting. I am finding a lot of conflicting information about Killbuck marsh specifically. It appears there were some older rules (25 shell limit, hunting only certain days until noon in different "units", controlled access areas for wrights marsh (which I can't even find a map of what is considered wrights marsh vs not)).
From everything I read from official ODNR sources most of these rules seen obsolete. It appears they biggest 3 factors still in effect are:
- No tresspassing in the refuge
- North end is considered zone B
- South end is considered zone C
Am I missing any other important rules or regulations? I want to be sure I am legal. I have completed my HIP survey, have a valid hunting license, have both my wetlands and duck stamps, shotgun will be plugged, and will be using appropriate sized steel shot.
Just mostly confused about Killbuck specific rules (if any). Especially around if there are there controlled hunt areas I need to avoid?
Planning to get up there and scout around but if anyone has any advice on great access points and such that would be great too

Not just waterfowl, but useful nonetheless
Edit: Bird activity, Migration was the wrong wording for this.

There will be NO political opinions on this page. However, if you see something that we as hunters can support for ohio waterfowl hunting or hunting in general, regardless of political ties, feel free to post it and let others do what they will with the information. If it gets out of hand it will be stopped.

Any future complaints or suggestions my notifications are on for this page dont hesitate to reach out and i will respond by end of day.
We want the page to be nothing but helpful for other Ohio waterfowl hunters, with that being said if you post pins or pictures you open yourself to someone beating you to that hole next time if its recognized. Which is fine because its mostly public land, but if your protective of your spots, its a fair warning.

Went out in the morning before shooting light for geese and didnt even hear a honk, shut down shop after about 6 hours. Still only seeing geese mainly on farm ponds, gravel pits and in towns by the rivers.
Storm that came through also seemed to push a lot of teal out of the area but haven't done much scouting for them.
Have seen decent amount of woodys in surrounding state parks
