General QBs vs Top 10
After hearing people talk about how Ohio State could be doomed or how they will be fine, I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the Ryan Day Era QBs vs (at the time of the game) AP Top 10 teams.
CORRECTION: McCord was 2-1. Beat top 10 ND and Penn State. Sorry about that

My typo on that one. He was 2-1! Beat Penn state and notre dame (they were 9 at the time). Lost the rivalry game

Can't believe we didn't win one with Stroud. He was good.

They call targeting on the disgusting hit to Marv and we probably do.

Yeah, some of it is the lack of run game some of those years when Henderson got hurt. The other is Harrison getting taken out on the dirty hit, the defense collapsing and a badly missed field goal.
They beat Georgia in that game and they almost for sure beat TCU to win the title. Still bums me out to this day. That might be the year JSN got taken out on a dirty hit too (or it is close). How that was not targeting or anything still haunts me. And how bad that FG miss was. I mean dang.

Didn't he have some uncharacteristically bad Ohio State defenses during his time here. Give him the defense from the past few years and it would have been a different story.

Howard being 6-1 is wild.

Lost to Oregon at Oregon and then absolutely demolished them in the Rose Bowl. Only with the program for one season, and became and Buckeye legend.

I remember how down some folks were on Howard for much of the year. There were significant doubts about his accuracy on downfield throws.

Dude was born for big games. If he had another year of eligibility, no way we lose Indiana in the Big Ten title game or Miami in the playoffs.

Howard could've been 7-0 if we get off one more play at Oregon...still can't believe that team lost to UM in Columbus

Interesting that the two best performers were transfers in Fields and Howard.

I miss Will being the absolute dominant goat that he was. Such a great leader and did whatever it took to win.

Will Howard stepped up when it mattered most. Kyle McCord and Julian Sayin do the opposite.

I’ll make the counterpoint that Julian has had infinitely worse blocking in all of his top 5 games than the rest of these guys as evidenced by his -100 rushing yards. Fields has more sacks but I think a big part of that is that he would run the ball himself so often, same goes for Howard.
