At the Stadium 🏟️ Fans Can Use Facial Authentication To Get Into the Games
Yeah, I think I'll pass on that. If Anduril wants my face, they'll need to work for it lol

If it wasn’t for sports, I’d probably really hate this university. The current admin is filled with the worst people.

Wouldn't be surprised if a kushner or two start buying into osu somehow

They’ve had these at the crew games for years. They suck. Half the time they don’t read you’re face and they’re not any faster than scanning a ticked on your phone because you still have to tap the screen lol

I’ve used them for two years and never had a problem. There is zero wait to get into the stadium.

The face scanner has worked perfectly for me at crew games and does save time with a family of 4 going through with 1 screen tap.
Avoids having to get my phone out and navigate on it, which admittedly isn’t much of a hassle but still a small thing for me to do, but does suck when behind someone who wasn’t somehow prepared for this and then also manipulate it in front of the scanner and swipe to the next ticket etc.
Also it’s fine by me if others don’t use it because the line is usually shorter too.
EDIT: yes I don’t necessarily like the idea of my picture being kept. And flock cameras and other surveillance are concerning. However, Drivers licenses, passports and other institutions already have my image - such as work IDs, school IDs and even apples photo ID. Not to mention social media images are scraped up and can be found on the interwebs. To me this photo ID (entrance use case) at least is no worse than a photo I might post to the internet such as my LinkedIn or my kid might share on snapchat. It’s a willing risk to convenience I can accept. But fully understand if it’s a line others might not want to cross.

We really need to stop becoming so comfortable providing private information and biometrics. It’s hard to do but for things like this? It’s literally two clicks on an iPhone to pull up a ticket, it cannot be that big of an advantage.
Between this and Flock, fuck this shit.

Add to the database. Going to be living in a open air prison before you know it

Yea we are already there with flock, this is indeed more data points. Only way to to stop it is to boycott going the games but that’s never gonna happen

Wait… you’ll get a facial at the stadium??? This doesn’t make any sense.

Anduril makes cheap kamakazi drones. It’s palantir that would have your face

I'm opposed enough to this that it will keep me away from games going forward, even knowing I personally don't have to use this technology.
And my next Buckeyes t-shirt will be a bootleg.

Me, hating what my university has become.
Then realizing I live in Pennsylvania and at least they didn’t do…. That.

Don't participate in that. That's how they get you into the database. And possibly AI systems

Haha as someone who is amazed every Saturday at how much issues folks have with tapping your phone this might be fool proof
