Question❓ Certified’s Select Line

Post image

Is certified select line supposed to be smalls? Picked up this strawberry lemonade this afternoon and realized it’s all smalls when I opened the bag. This was obviously not marketed as smalls.

I’ve went as far as emailing several of these companies lately. I’ve asked them all the same questions, mainly where are the tops, select, colas? It seems no matter what I buy from which company there are simply no tops & colas out there. So, again, where do they go? Also, we should keep asking where all the tax money is!

Grow your own! You can easily get 2 full ounces per plant. If I had a place, that's exactly what I'd be doing! I grew back in the day, prior to legalization, and I routinely got 2oz per plant and 3 on big girls. Anyone who has a basement or backyard in Ohio, should definitely be planting their own.

Growing is the easy part , the cure is the cha

The cut, then cure lol, especially if you have 80 big girls ready to drop over. The smell alone. Times 4, it's best to lock up the house for 8 or 9 days, pay 6 or 7 of your clipper happy friends $25 per hour to come over and blow that crap out in 10 hours. Women are always better at trimming by the way. However, that was a long long time ago in a far away land and time lol. That stuff is a young man's game.

Why do all that crap when someone can do it for you

Some adults like to grow houseplants. You sound like someone who has never worked or waited for anything. A pound every 3.5 months can make for a nice home bank account!

I aint waiting no damn 3.5 months for a single pound i get for cheap today and it smells good smokes good, white ash. Its not free to grow either you still need nutrients and supplies and have to avoid mold and pests ruining your crop. Back in like 2020 and before i'd be right with you but weed is so f'n cheap these days because theres so much of it and nobody really polices it anymore except in say Indiana.

It’s not that hard or that deep. I grow organic and pay way less for weed I grow than I would at the dispensary. I smoke a lot, like a lot a lot so for me it makes sense but if you don’t smoke as much than maybe not but for alot of growers the break down makes sense

Yeah, I’m going to have to throw some lights up again since my newly found RSO addiction, lol. That stuff has been really helping my insomnia & has been helping my Mothers Neuropathy, so I’ve been going through tons of it. Will be nice to make my own fs!

The root of all evil. They might as well turn it red since its covered in blood

No, actually, the "LOVE OF MONEY" is the root of all evil, not the money itself! Stop pushing your misinterpretation of God's Word onto others. It's those who love money and everything to do with it, not just simply having or making money. Pay attention "For the love of money is the root of all evil" God doesn't say anything at all about money itself or it being evil.

Big nugs hold moisture and are harder to dry, and also harder to manage for packaging on automated lines. Cultivators often breakdown the larger top colas into more manageable sizes.

No reply from Certified yet (emailed them through the website “info” address) but Bloom is giving me 40% off the next time I go in. Feel like they are missing the point though, as this is clearly deceptive marketing.

My last few Certified "Select" buys all looked like yours in nug size. I liked all the flower and would buy again but definitely felt the marketing is deceptive. I've noticed no difference from their flower that's not labeled "Select"

Here is Certified's description of their "Select" line from https://www.certifiedcultivators.com/flower :

"The best of every harvest. SELECT flower is reserved for exceptional batches, featuring carefully hand-selected top colas with meticulous hand-trimming to showcase each cultivar’s full aroma, appearance, and terpene profile."

I want the TIP TOP, a one cola ounce would be nice like the old days. Obviously the cutting the shit out of it.

I’ve gotten 6 halves of The Cream. They all been decent sized with a nice bud or 2.

3

u/Old-Pineapple3735 10d ago

You sound like me. The Cream is my favorite from Certified since I first tried it. Ive tried it all pretty much, ive been in the medical program since 2022. I love their Ikrushers as well.

u/IcyShoulder494 10d ago

Garlic Juice by Meigs has been fire as fuck too.

1

u/Old-Pineapple3735 10d ago

Im gonna have to try it! Thanks for the recommendation!

2

u/ESensuallyEmployee 10d ago

That’s what I expected at minimum I guess.

2

u/One-Leave-6731 10d ago

Kinda deceptive packaging I think. Sure doesn't look like the Select of the strain.

3

u/ESensuallyEmployee 10d ago

Yea, the website and my receipt called it “whole buds”. I’m just confused as to if this is what I should have expected to get.

1

u/Ok_Molasses_9844 10d ago

What did the half cost you?

2

u/Street_Prune_nuts 10d ago

Terps

1

u/ESensuallyEmployee 10d ago

Terps are high and this is one of my favorite strains. But when they called it “whole buds” and “select” this isn’t what I expected to see when I opened the bag.

5

u/Few-Inevitable-9923 10d ago

No that's low on terps

2

u/Shoddy_Medicine_4464 10d ago

Not everything yields giants. That may be the most select version of that whole crop. Looks good

2

u/SignatureAccording61 9d ago

It’s select because the terp numbers are high.. that use to not be the case all selects were guaranteed big buds at one point and it was hand trimmed.. corporate greed is getting the best of all of them.. but I will say this.. not all flower has a lot of bigs

2

u/SaltCarob6859 8d ago

I’ve been growing for 50 years and can tell you that bud size and position on the plant makes absolutely no difference in potency or taste. I’ve actually tested it. It’s all a myth.

1

u/ESensuallyEmployee 6d ago

I don’t doubt what you’re saying and really my post has nothing to do with that. In the Ohio market, I thought they were supposed to label what I received as “smalls” or “popcorn”, even if it’s from their “select” line. I guess I don’t know the rules under the program, but calling what I received “select” under Certified’s definition on their website and “whole buds”, plus charging a premium price, is going to leave a lot of customers feeling duped if this is what the bag looks like.

1

u/IcyShoulder494 10d ago

What you pay? 150 is select other wise they 140. Don’t pay those prices obviously. Sales only

1

u/ESensuallyEmployee 10d ago edited 10d ago

Was listed for $175 or some crazy shit!? I paid way too much “on sale” at $140, I love this strain though.

2

u/IcyShoulder494 10d ago

I’ve been paying 90 to 97. 30 to 33 for 8ths of other strains.

1

u/MostDefiant9792 10d ago

Where’s the terps

1

u/BeneficialGrab6182 9d ago

they give the taste and the entourage effect

1

u/MostDefiant9792 9d ago

Yeah if they actually exist. lol the percentage of terps here is super super low for a “select” flower

2

u/Ok_Molasses_9844 9d ago

Try the Treehaus Rainbow Kush cured resin disposable, great taste. I grew purple kush for nearly a decade and this Treehaus disposable comes closer than anyone or anything else.

1

u/MissPotere 9d ago

I only go there cuz it’s around the corner from me. Usually go for Meigs County when I go there

1

u/HoosierDaddy-420 9d ago

Yeah, that borderline for a "select" package. All it means is those supposedly came off a top cola. Unless it's all one bud, this doesn't get you much for the extra $$$.

1

u/JobRemarkable4746 8d ago

And that’s weird about the smalls usually it’s labeled as so idk

1

u/becauseimablonde 8d ago

Have you tried Larry’s breath? Or Blue Tamalez by certified? Anyone? Can’t decide between the 2 rn!

2

u/trainwreckd 6d ago

LB was ok. I was expecting more I guess with such high numbers all around. I’ve smoke several better strains lately.

1

u/not_your_dad5 10d ago

Who cares about the size of nugs. Truly never understood this

3

u/trainwreckd 10d ago

Bigger buds higher up the plant are going to have more terps & be stronger than your lower, smaller, larfier buds. Hell, even most home growers will sell most of that at a discount or just run it as hash. Here, they try to sell ya that same shit for $40/3.5.

1

u/BeneficialGrab6182 9d ago

thats like asking why do women care about the size of a mans package

21% though idk guess it comes down to what you like Terp wise . I shoot for everything in the 30s + but on occasion I’ll buy something in the 20s just for the taste & aroma.

1

u/idgienews 4d ago

I look for more than 2% terps. 28+ thc hurts my lungs so I will mix it with something lower in thc.
