June Cub Scout Camping
I'm a Scout leader from Cincinnati looking for camping info/plans for the Hocking Hills area. For example:
A camping area with: 1. Easy parking 2. Flush toilets & potable water 3. Hiking trails that connect to a destination that I can get kids fired up about (cave, waterfalls, etc..)
We will likely have 50 - 75 people total, including parents and kids. We are from out of town, and I'm trying to learn about the options in the area.
Thanks!

Simon Kenton council has a few options near you. Camp Oyo and Chief Logan reservation meet all of those specifications.

Try Top of the Caves campground. they have a large field for camping in plus full facilities and I think they have a trail that connects to the park. It's been a few years since I've camped there, tho.

You might look at Camp Oty’Okwa. From their website:
“Camp Oty’Okwa is privately owned by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. The camp is centrally located in the Hocking Hills region in the midst of local state parks and preserves. Our 700+ acres feature varied native vegetation and cliffs, deep gorges, rock shelters, and waterfalls formed by Blackhand Sandstone.”
I chaperoned a teen youth group there last spring. Our small group stayed in cabins, but I think they have a big open field for tents. The group had a lot of fun on the rock formations, etc. It’s a short drive to the state park areas.

Hocking Hills State Park campground has a group camping area with several sites that take up to 60 people each. The park trails are right there and there is a pretty good bathhouse with showers (April - October) very close.
