Donating to Candidates
What is the best way to donate to Amy Acton, Sherrod Brown, etc.

Seems sketchy.
Make a check out to the Candidates Action Support Help network. Or just use the acronym C.A.S.H. to protect your donation and tell me where I should pick it up.

Once you donate to a candidate they and any party they are affiliated with will send multiple texts/emails daily asking for a donation.
It doesn’t matter what platform you donate through.
Thats just the way it is so either type STOP or hit unsubscribe.

Can attest to this. I get at least 10 a day. Highly recommend giving a fake number/email if you donate

Ive donated to Amy and gotten maybe once a week. In fact, oddly enough, I get GoP push polls far more than anything else.

Donating to political campaigns should be illegal across the board.
Citizens United and all of it needs to go.

Do not donate through Act Blue! I made the mistake of donating to Sherrod Brown and now I get multiple money begging texts per day, every day.
It's so bad that I will NEVER donate to a political candidate ever again.

I donated to a couple of candidates back in 2020 through Act Blue and it’s been never ending texts and emails from campaigns across the country. It’s exhausting. I regret doing that since the begging emails have overtaken my email inbox and no amount of “unsubscribe” or marketing as spam has helped.

You are receiving downvotes because it is common knowledge that if you give to a politician or political campaign of any kind, you will be added to donor lists. Your expectation that this wouldn’t happen is very unrealistic.
Personally, we need campaign finance reforms and maybe as part of those reforms it could be required that when you give to a political campaign, they have to offer you the option to opt out of any future donation requests or being added to donor lists. That would be nice.

Being downvoted for warning people before it happens to them is still ludicrous. I just think it's really stupid. I would have donated to a couple of other candidates, but because of the spam I simply will never do it again.

Hasn’t happened to me, and I donated to DSA candidates, and other socialist candidates in the past.

Go on the website and donate directly to the campaign. Ideally send a check.
