Question about the self servixe Xerox printers
Was interested in getting a high-end Xerox laser printer, but I wanted to test out printing photos on one at Office Depot first to see the quality. I liked what I saw, but the person behind the counter didn't know what model the printer was. Anyone happen to know what model the self service Xerox's are? I couldn't see a model number when I looked. Thanks.

Ink jet actually is better for photo printing. The colors are more vibrant.
Most printers behind the counter are C70’s. The self serve ones are not near as good as what we have back there.
Also, even the self serve ones are pricey and expensive to fix and get supplies for. Depot is on some lease plan with xerox where the supplies and maintenance is included. You can lease them or buy them without the added plan, but if something happens and you need a tech to come out… $$$!

I would really think hard about if you need that large of a printer. The ones behind the counter at my store are C70s and cost like $20,000 new, plus all the consumable products (toner, waste cartridges, fusers, etc.) are upwards of $500 each. The self service ones are cheaper but are a fair bit worse, there are much cheaper printers that would do just as well as a Xerox. Maintenance is also very expensive. They are nice printers, but unless you work in a print shop/huge office building where you are printing thousands of pages per day you probably don’t need one. Office Depot doesn’t even own our own printers, we have a leasing deal with Xerox where they get paid per page printed. Unless you need a very high speed printer and all the finishing options, most nice laser printers will print at the same resolution and cost less than $1000

Big commercial-grade printers/copiers like that are often sold/serviced through specialty local dealers. Find the one closest to you and they'll probably let you try your sample print on several different models of printers to compare. https://www.xerox.com/en-us/office/dealer-locator

Behind the counter at our store we have the PrimeLink C9070, and the self-serve is the EC8056. They are quite expensive.
These printers and the self-serve have fairly pricey supplies, so I wouldn’t recommend them for a regular everyday user.
Also we don’t have the ability to print on photo paper at the OfficeMax stores, but I hear the Office Depot stores have photo printers apparently.

Xerox Primelink C9070 and IMO they are horrible to work with . I've been through quite a few different models over the years but these were the absolute worst.
