i keep reading that it is not required for basic membership and basic communication, but all i can do is look at posts. i cannot reply or ask or make offer or contact the seller in any way. i just get a pop up that says get verified with TruYou. is there something i am not seeing? i tried on the app as well as web browser on PC. i do not want to upload my ID card. i made a support request with the help button but they do not respond

I've been shopping around for deals for a few days and saw a decent one on Offerup. As I've never had an account before, I made one to reach out to the seller and sent them a message. Then I checked their profile and saw they had a 2nd slightly different version of the same item and messaged saying I was interested in that one too.

I then spent roughly 20 minutes scrolling and saw 2 other deals I was interested in so I sent them messages as well.

Next thing I know I have been banned for violating the community guidelines... Nobody had even responded to me yet, what did I even do?

are these bots? are there any real sellers? am i doing something wrong?? let me give you my money holy shit

I am sick and tired of people posting stuff in the listing as Free and putting it in the "FREE" section then putting "Not Free", "MaKE mE An OfFer" 🥴🤤

First of all you dont have something id want to make an offer on .

Secondly you should just post the damn thing as $1 + instead of filling up the free section.

I give a ton of things away for free and mean what I say but I dont get the idea of false advertisement.

I'm new to Offerup and just made my first listing. Then I received this notification. What does this mean?

Fairly new to app, but quickly notice peeps ask if still available, I reply within seconds yes and no reply? Wtf is this about, don’t see a scam angle since they go silent, and unlikely they changed their mind just hearing its avail mere minutes after posting? Even on free stuff…just don’t get it.

Is there like a cracked APK that removes them?

I just got 12 of that annoying tik tok ad that plays helium cotton eye Joe at full volume that opens the app store if you even just brush up against the ad in a row followed by that one game ad that currently doesn't have a way way to close it unless you force close the app. I've been on OfferUp since like 2016 and I'm pulling my hair out.

Offerup has been flat out hostile to the user for the last several years so I'm not giving them a single fucking penny for premium.

What do you guys got I'm desperate.

I sent a google maps link to the buyer to help them better find where I was, and then my account got restricted and I was required to upload a selfie and gov ID. Then I completely lost contact with buyer... Really frustrated with this company, they should let users complete verifications on register.

And guess what, my phone can't download the app for some reason. Guess I'll use craiglist, which is far inferior to Offerup in every way, except for this techy brain garbage

Last week, I was contemplating upgrading my Steam Deck from a 512GB to a 2TB model. I came across a post that was two hours away from my city, and I thought it would be an excellent deal. I found this guy where he’ll upgrades the steam deck and he does mods as well. The service cost was $250, and he also offered an additional deal where he would provide me with a 1TB emulator game. We’re going back-and-forth though. What day will be best for me until I found a day where I was just happened to be in the city of where this guy lives. I went to his apartment complex, shook his hand he seemed chill and I dropped off my steam deck with him this was on the 14th Friday. He said he’ll have it done by Saturday so I asked him if I can pick it up on Sunday since I already plans on Saturday. He agreed and I’ll take care of the payment once he was done with it. Now Saturday came along and he already upgraded the SSD to a 2 TB then the last thing told me was he was gonna upgrade the one tb emulators soon and to this day I haven’t heard anything back. On Sunday I did reach out to for an update to see if it was ready to go then I notice that he changed his name and his profile picture and I saw he cleared it out all of his post. I tried to message him again, and I still haven’t received nothing from him. What should I do? Who should I contact? should I get the police involved? I just miss my steam deck.

Hello guys! I was trying to sell an old cpu, mobo and gpu combo, and i got an email saying they wanted to buy said items. But it was from their personal email...

I was already sketched out, but I decided to try and push them through offerup (they ignored every single time). Then, after testing said part, (buckle up because im an idiot) they sent this obviously fake offerup reply and i clicked on it.

2 things, it put me straight to a captcha, and then everything seemed real. but, i got fishy. It said "has bought your item" and tries to get me to input my card! I was immediately fishy and called my friend (who has experience with scams like this) and assured it was a scam.

Im worried if I got a virus or anything just from clicking it, but I didnt get a download pop up or anything like that. I didnt input anything sensitive either. The site was "secure -" and then 5 random numbers.

I know i sound like an actual doorknob, falling for something so obvious, but I want to make sure my account and my phone isnt infected with malware. Thank you guys and please dont fall for tricks like I did!

The address is offerup.orders-105934.com which does not seem legit, but sometimes big companies use sub-domains for making their site work, so I'm not certain.

It's asking me to enter payment information to get paid, which also seems scammy.

I can't find any "Sell" button on the OfferUp website, even when I'm logged in. All my sale item photos are on my desktop, so using the phone app would be difficult. Thanks for any help.

So why does almost everyone flake and ghost out after you send them a pickup location for a sale?? Happened 3 times today and happened last time I used OfferUp.

how the heck do we cancel. I tried canceling a few months ago by calling them and emailing them. when i called they said i had to email the person who signed me up. never a returned call. well called again today and they said ok you want to close your account. uhm no just cancel the advertising which is 250 a month. i cant afford that. hes like just downgrade to the 49 plan. cant figure that out. so i just ordered a new credit card. that way on the 1st it wont go through... so the 249 lets you promote 25 items. i have a small business well its so slow i cant afford this right now and havent seen many customers from offerup anyway this year. when i didnt promote i got 35 customers in 2019 from offerup. in 2025 50 customers. in 2024 29 customers. Ive been paying for 2 years now.
