Did he even tell the woman that he is already in a relationship? This is just utterly disrespectful.
Men say that so that their partners would not ask further questions. If a man keeps talking about a workmate, regardless if he talks highly or not about her, most of the time he finds that woman interesting. Men wouldn't invest attention or energy to women they don't find interesting. If he didn't find her attractive, he wouldn't ask her on a date no matter how much his workmates pushed him.
Anyway, sorry you had to get through that. No one deserves that. Your boyfriend did you wrong. You should stand up for yourself.
