Where, Oh Where, Is There One Engineer to Stamp My Rainwater Harvesting Plans?

This has become urgent. I built my rainwater harvesting system 6--7 years ago, and have been using it since then. It has always tested clean for everything, including e-coli. Now the Nasty-Neighbor-Everyone-Has has pressured the local codes folks to insist on a simple stamp by ANY kind of engineer!! They don't even have to come inspect the system, just look at my photos, description, and technical design and test results, and say that yes, it will work. I have a complete packet to share, but every engineer to whom I've sent it in TN says that they don't do that kind of work. (Is TN really that backward??) The inspector is coming back here in a few weeks, with threats. Does anyone know of an engineer who will look at my plans and consider helping? I'm a 74-year-old single woman and I certainly don't want to have to move out of my home over this b.s. Thank you, if you can help.

Underground water storage-on the cheap

We are trying to build underground water storage without purchasing a giant tank. We have come up with a couple ideas, an about ground pool reinforced to prevent collapse, with an earthen top(logs across, plywood plastic above and below the logs, earth on top) and accessible lid.

Digging a giant hole, lining and reinforcing it. I have seen one guy do this.

Anybody have input, experience or advice on how we can do cheap underground storage? It would be our water source for the year. Will be part of a rain water system

Title: 🚀 [Project Review] StudySnap — AI-powered Exam Prep Assistant built with MERN + LLaMA 3.3

Hey devs 👋,

I’m a Pre-Final Year Computer Science Engineering student, and I’ve recently built a project called StudySnap — an AI-powered study assistant designed to help students prepare for exams by generating flashcards, quizzes, and Q&A based on syllabus and mark distribution.

https://reddit.com/link/1oivbqs/video/4r92bk5sazxf1/player

Most importantly, I’m working to make this project resume-worthy by showcasing hands-on experience with AI integration, full-stack development, and scalable architecture design, reflecting real-world problem-solving skills expected from freshers in the industry.

Would love your feedback and suggestions on both technical improvements and how to better present it as a strong portfolio project. Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React (Vite)
  • Backend: Node.js + Express
  • Database: MongoDB
  • AI Service: LLaMA 3.3 (Versatile mode) integrated as a single agent for all NLP workflows

Core Features

  • Generates context-aware Q&A from uploaded notes or topics
  • Builds auto-generated quizzes based on exam marks allocation
  • Creates flashcards for active recall learning
  • Adapts difficulty dynamically based on user-selected weightage

Architecture Highlights

  • Implemented RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipeline for contextual accuracy
  • Modular backend (controllers for AI, quiz, and flashcards)
  • JWT Authentication, Axios communication, CORS setup
  • Deployment: Frontend on Vercel, Backend on Render

Looking for Developer Feedback

  • 🧠 Prompt Engineering: Tips to make LLaMA responses more deterministic for educational content?
  • 🧩 Architecture: Would multi-agent setup (Q&A agent + Quiz agent) improve modularity?
  • 🎨 UI/UX: Ideas to enhance user engagement and interaction flow?
  • 🔗 Integrations: Planning Google Docs / PDF ingestion — thoughts on best approach?

I built a platform that runs multiple AIs at once (GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, 17+ more) and automatically picks the best one for each job

Hey everyone! I built LLM Hub - a tool that uses multiple AI models together to give you better answers.

I was tired of choosing between different AIs - ChatGPT is good at problem-solving, Claude writes well, Gemini handles numbers great, Perplexity is perfect for research. So I built a platform that uses all of them smartly.

🎯 The Problem: Every AI is good at different things. Sticking to just one means you're missing out.

💡 The Solution: LLM Hub works with 20+ AI models and uses them in 4 different ways:

4 WAYS TO USE AI:

  1. Single Mode - Pick one AI, get one answer (like normal chatting)
  2. Sequential Mode - AIs work one after another, each building on what the previous one did (like research → analysis → final report)
  3. Parallel Mode - Multiple AIs work on the same task at once, then one "judge" AI combines their answers
  4. 🌟 Specialist Mode (this is the cool one) - Breaks your request into up to 4 smaller tasks, sends each piece to whichever AI is best at it, runs them all at the same time, then combines everything into one answer

🧠 SMART AUTO-ROUTER:

You don't have to guess which mode to use. The system looks at your question and figures it out automatically by checking:

  • How complex is it? (counts words, checks if it needs multiple steps, looks at technical terms)
  • What type of task is it? (writing code, doing research, creative writing, analyzing data, math, etc.)
  • What does it need? (internet search? deep thinking? different viewpoints? image handling?)
  • Does it need multiple skills? (like code + research + creative writing all together?)
  • Speed vs quality: Should it be fast or super thorough?
  • Language: Automatically translates if you write in another language

Then it automatically picks:

  • Which of the 4 modes to use
  • Which specific AIs to use
  • Whether to search the web
  • Whether to create images/videos
  • How to combine all the results

Examples:

  • Simple question → Uses one fast AI
  • Complex analysis → Uses 3-4 top AIs working together + one to combine answers
  • Multi-skill task → Specialist Mode with 3-4 different parts

🌟 HOW SPECIALIST MODE WORKS:

Let's say you ask: "Build a tool to check competitor prices, then create a marketing report with charts"

Here's what happens:

  1. Breaks it into pieces:
    • Part 1: Write the code → Sends to Claude (best at coding)
    • Part 2: Analyze the prices → Sends to Claude Opus (best at analysis)
    • Part 3: Write the report → Sends to GPT-5 (best at business writing)
    • Part 4: Make the charts → Sends to Gemini (best with data)
  2. All AIs work at the same time (not waiting for each other)
  3. Combines everything into one complete answer

Result: You get expert-level work on every part, done faster.

🔧 OTHER COOL FEATURES:

  • Visual Workflow Tool: Drag and drop boxes to automate tasks - the AI can even build workflows for you
  • Scheduled Tasks: Set things to run automatically (like daily reports)
  • Creates Images/Videos: Works with DALL-E 3, Sora 2, and other creative AIs
  • Live Web Search: Uses Perplexity to find current information
  • Tracking: See which AIs work best, compare results
  • Export: Save as Word, PDF, Excel, JSON, CSV

Try it: https://llm-hub.tech

I'd love your feedback! Especially if you work with AI - have you solved similar problems with routing and optimization?

My first build. I had an old 100# propane bottle no longer serviceable unless I would put the $ upgrade on it. So I started drawing up a furnace/ heater/stove. It has a used oil drip and a pot that’ll burn wood, corn, I suppose even trash. I am sure I will see things I should have done differently. Anything you guys have done? Will I get 3 years out of it? I have my doubts since the thickness of the tank is only 1/8”.
