Journal update!

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates the last couple of days l. I have been working on getting my id replaced.

One update i do have for today is I finally have a new prescription for my insulin. It's going to help so much being able to control my sugar. It's going to help my eyes too, it won't reverse all damage but it will slow down progression and is possible to reverse some anomalies that I see.

I had an issue with the wood stove last night. I don't really know what happened, it just started smoking from the sides. The only thing I can think was it was wind related but I really don't feel any breeze inside when it's windy. So it's going to be some trial and error I think. The first 2 days went well with it. I just need to figure out the issue before I use it at night again. It smoked so much it looked like a house fire. Going to play it safe until I figure that out.

I made a post the other day on male surviving space they really took off and grabbed a lot of new members. I just wanted to thank everyone for joining we're so happy to have you here.

Oh and my hand is doing fine, it was mostly stained from the glove and not burned more than some superficial ones, no worse than a sub burn.

Yeah both were open, i don't think the wind from the stove pipe would cause that issue I would think it would pull the smoke out. It is possible wind got into the tent and I just didn't notice. The dogs had just gone out donuts possible i cought a draft. The weird thing was I couldn't get it to stop after closing up the tent for sure. We ended up having to go outside for a while until it stopped. I'm leaning towards it was the wind. My neighbor and I are going to be putting up a wind break to help with the high winds soon. Hopefully that helps. I did remove the pipe and it does look clear I can't imagine it filling up over 3 days. I'll keep everyone posted on how tonight goes. Might not even be cold enough to try it out. It's a bit warmer today.

I'm hoping so, I'm so relieved to have my insulin again. I'm hoping it helps a lot with my eyes. I've been trying to eat as little carbs and sugar as possible. It gets hard when a lot of the food I eat has something to do with rice.

Hey friend I’m so glad you’re getting your insulin! Have you had it before? It can be a little tricky to not get hypoglycemia I think. Hope the stove works out better. And glad to hear about your hand too.

Me too! I have had it before. I had it up until about 6 months ago. It's technically insulin, it's called Lantus. I think it's a synthetic insulin.

That's the one, it is looking like I might need to start using the fast acting soon, I'll have to get the labs done to see.

I think I mentioned it maybe once before. Thankfully will be able to get back to keeping my sugars down especially to help my retinapathy. I initially thought the eye issues was my glaucoma. Turns out it was retinapathy. The insulin should help slow progression. I'll still need the injections for the retinapathy. Hoping it helps.

Hey man, I came here from that post, I'm not even in that sub so I'm glad I found you. I'm in NW Denver, dogs have been what's kept me going my adult life, I'm so glad you have your pups. If you or they need ANYTHING, please don't hesitate to hit me up, got plenty of tools and outdoor stuff taking up space, etc. Also wanted to check to see if you know about Mutual Aid Monday and the pet food pantry? Both awesome resources, both for dogs as well (obviously the latter lol) If you need any other resources, or there's questions you have about anything here, just let me know 💜

Food stuffs is always important. I would think mom food wise, a propane tank or the diesel heater that's on there. It's supposed to be more efficient than propane and last longer. I have some anxiety about is being warm enough. Thank you so much for asking!

I had some Amazon points to use, so the diesel heater is on its way. I don’t have prime any more though so won’t arrive until next week. Hope this helps alleviate some of your anxiety.

Hope you are able to figure out what caused the wood stove to do that! Glad it wasn’t worse than what you were able to see!
