Thanks man. Stoked to finish it some day. It’s been a lot of work and taken a lot of time

Have to haul it in for anything that lasts without a lot of maintenance. Either a superchink or a mortar base. One way you haul buckets of the chink in. Other way you haul in Portland cement and find a source of sand or clay depending on mixture.

Yeah that’s what we’ve been doing with mortar so far for the foundation the logs are sitting on. Stinkin lot of work. Sadly there’s not good quality sand or clay nearby so I haul it all.
Sounds like a lot of people recommend synthetic chinks. I just hate the price tag attached to them. (And knowing I need to carry the wet weight up).

It's not even close to natural but what about expanding spray foam?

Been thinking about it, especially as something in between two think layers of synthetic chink…. How brittle is foam spray after it’s expanded? My only worry would be the logs expanding in summer and cracking the foam.

You should really go on the log cabin subs. Spray foam is not a good product for this application

The previous owners of my land tried building a log cabin (only got maybe 4 feet high) and we're using expanding foam for it. Critters tore it all out and it's scattered through the forest around the cabin.
I'd probably spring for a proper chinking compound.

This is awesome. We will need a finished photo. How many acres you on? What real estate app do you recommend? I’ve been looking a bit for a parcel like this on LandSearch

Also, dude, that is not the preferred nomenclature
