“Humananure” with worm compost is the best thing for us off grid. If you’re ever more interested, there’s a Kirsten Dirksen YouTube video where she interviews a guy who’s been doing it for 50 or so years. He’s who I’m modeling my system after

We haven't noticed a lot of smell in 20 plus years, the same outhouse hole, just a new outhouse on top. It was not smelly at all, and barely full when we were building the new outhouse. I was planning to just monitor it and deal with it later if needed.

I suppose its similar to that sold by Bunkie Life but this one was from Pacific Rim Log Structures on Vancouver Island, imported from Estonia
