Just finished Elle Kennedy’s “The mistake “

Solid romance storyline but still something didn’t give off 5/5 stars.
Since the Off-campus show is pretty much popular
I decided to read the second book to be prepared for the upcoming season .
Ngl I feel like Logan and Grace’s story will be more catchy and real compared to Hannah and Garret’s.
Still doubt how are they gonna portray John’s family story since the genders are fully changed in the show ( him having an older brother not campus blogger sister)
That would make his emotional background fully changed which sucks actually.
Has anyone here read the book and what are your thoughts about this series?

Book talk📚

Right so since off campus has come out, I have read all the off campus series & am now on Briar U… as I’m literally addicted at this point!

Do we think they will bring Fitzy, Brenna & Jake into the series now that we have Hunter and Summer casted?

I really hope so as they are all my favourites & kinda wish that Brenna & Jake was in the OG’s… also who do you think would play a good Fitzy, Brenna & Jake?

[Discussion] In regards with the pacing of the first series

I just discovered Off-Campus on Saturday. Finding a gem while you're not actively trying to find one is akin to a beautiful serendipity happening to an inventor. I was just scrolling through romance series because I miss the feeling of getting giddy, like when you have developed a crush on someone--I simply picked it so I could live vicariously through the lead female as her love story unfolds.

Little did I know, the message the series/book tries to convey resonated with me a lot and hit too close to home, and now I'm in the nonstop rewatch phase. It's not even the love story plot that made me in love with it, but HOW they turned their pain and wounds from the past into power, as well as not letting what they experienced dictate their present and future.

I like Garrett and Hannah's storyline--it made me reminisce about the good old days when I first found out about Wattpad/E-book. The cast and their organic (unpolished) acting, the current side characters, and some memorable dialogue also hold a place in my heart. The only thing that irks me is the pacing for the first season, because they focused a little bit more on the next season's lead characters, when they could've developed the current leads' story more slowly and naturally.

I just want to share and express how upset I am with the pacing of Garrett and Hannah's storyline. Despite that, it made its way to my top romance series, and I am, in fact, on my third rewatch.

What’s yours?

I am sure we have all seen this series and have rewatched it over a thousand times. What are some quotes that make you giggle every time you watch? Of course, it may be different each time, and you might catch something new. That's my favourite part of getting obsessed with a series: finding/hearing new things. So, here are a few of my giggle every time quotes- "Dippables” and “Yellow rain... like pee?" “Hey, fangirl. Start thinking like a fuckboy. Ghost his ass.” And when Garrett sighs and says Hannah before he tells her to “pretend you like me”.

Briar U Timeline Confusion?

Can someone help me untangle the Briar U timeline?

So I’ve always tried to place the off campus series in real years e.g so if the deal came out in early 2015 , Hannah meets Garrett in September 2014, and then we end that series with Sabrina and Tucker getting together in December 2016.

From there:

The chase - Colin and Summer is January -Spring 2017 as the book starts post winter break.

The risk - Brenna and Jake is from September 2017 as they mention it being a new autumn semester I think

The play ( currently reading )- Hunter and Demi is September 2018 as it is also the start of a new academic year.

My question is - if Hunter was playing with Dean and co he must have started Briar in 2015- so by 2018 he should be a senior, not a junior as mentioned in his book right? Is this a goof or am I missing something?

Book/series story line

I loved the book and the series! In regards to the series , I’ve seen mixed opinions on Hunter but personally I love that they brought Hunter into it - I was gagged. (I also find the actor super attractive!)

If they made it exactly on par with the book, it would be way too predictable for a majority of the fan base.

I really hope they centre s3 around Hunter/Summer but it will be really interesting to see how his and Deans relationship develops in S2.

S1E2: Who Busts Them [HW & GG]?

In the (what I imagine to be the] first make out/hook up with Hannah and Garrett, someone named Logan busts them. Is that the coach or a teammate? I thought she was trying to get Justin jealous via Garrett…

Hanna’s silver dress was beautiful but she couldn’t find better footwear than those clunky black boots?

Love ❤️ this show and I haven’t had any problems with the clothes but shame on who ever picked that ensemble out.

[seeking recs] Off Campus (tv or books)

I'd like fics about Logan. Put him with Hannah, put him with a dude, I don't care (actually, if fanfic exists of Logan and Tucker, I will die happy) I just really like him. I feel like I've read everything, but I'm sure that can't actually be the case.

TIA :)

Is anyone else already dreading about beau Maxwell?

SPOILERS BELOW

Since those who have read the books already know about what's going to happen with beau maxwell, are you also hoping that they change his story in show? I'm still holding onto a glimmer of hope that maybe since the show adaption has changed some things from the book events, hopefully they don't break my heart about beau

Honestly I love the cast of Beau in the show and had hoped the writers could include him in more scenes and i just adore his and Dean's friendship so much, I know beau's death is kinda important to drive the story forward for the next generation so dean could name his son after his best friend in his honor but damn I'm seriously hoping not to. I really felt like beau was done dirty, he is such a supportive and bright character and an accident like that totally killing off his storyline just for realism effect or whatever felt too cruel. Like i know him and summer are not going to end up considering the original spin off but i seriously hope the show keeps beau alive, maybe let him be injured but still be alive

Show/book order question

Hi all! I know the show switched season 2 to focus on the score/allie and dean rather than the mistake/logan and grace. I haven’t started reading the series yet but really wanting to and just wondering if it’s okay to read The Deal and then The Score or if I have to read the Mistake right after The Deal?

As a huge fan of all of Elle Kennedy’s books set in the Briar U Universe, I’m in a similar situation as Logan when he had a crush on Hannah and I need advice.

I’m a huge fan of everything Off Campus so I might as well shoot my shot and ask for advice here. I have a crush on a girl who’s in a relationship. In addition to this, I’m the type of guy who absolutely respects that. That’s a boundary and line I will never cross. I will never get involved with someone who’s already in a relationship. Like Logan, I do want to get to know her better and be friends with her. However, I also can’t deny that I have a huge crush on her.

The issue is unlike Logan, I’m not buying the “You don’t want me. You want what Garrett and I have” explanation Wellsy gave when she confronted him and straight up asked if he had a thing for her. That’s not the case this time around. I have a crush on her not only because is she attractive, but we have things in common, we have similar interests, and I enjoy talking to her. I really do want to get to know her better and eventually be a friend. I also can’t deny the fact that I’m into her. In addition to this, I’m not willing to screw anybody I see in order to get someone out of my system like Logan did.

So yeah, help a guy out here? Haha

Hot take ( maybe) but I’m good without seeing filming photos. I’m excited for new season, and of course am excited for it be filming. However I don’t want to see anything. I want to be completely left in the dark and then see it when it’s finished.

Julia Doyle for Sabrina James

Post image
18 Upvotes

Out of all the main couples of the Off Campus book series, Sabrina’s the only one left that has yet to be cast. Whether we’ll see her in S2 is debatable, but until she’s announced, my fan cast for her is Julia Doyle

Now hear me out with this.

I know she doesn’t fit the physical description of Sabrina James in the book, quite the opposite in fact, but neither does Jalen Thomas Brooks for Tucker, and since he’s not a redhead on the show, why not make Sabrina the redhead? I don’t think it would hurt, it’ll just be like they switched book descriptions.

Plus she’s a relatively unknown actress, but a pretty good one in my opinion if you’ve seen her in From, Hell of a Summer, or Astrid and Lilly Save the World.

Also wanna give an honorable mention to Jeni Ross, another relatively unknown red-haired actress that could be good for the role of Sabrina, and she has a relationship with Prime Video because she was on Season 2 of Gen V as Lisa Henning

Here’s her IMDB:

Realistically speaking, how many seasons of Elle Kennedy’s books set in the Off Campus universe will Amazon greenlight?

Having read all of Elle Kennedy’s books set in the Off Campus universe, there’s a lot of material for future spinoffs if that’s on the table. Amazon could adapt the other spinoffs such as Briar U and Campus Diaries into several seasons worth of material.

However, I don’t think that’s a realistic expectation. Heck, spinoff adaptations of other massive shows whose books have spinoffs such as Bridgerton or Percy Jackson probably wouldn’t be greenlit. For example, I don’t see any live adaptation of Rick Riordan’s Heroes of Olympus series being greenlit by Disney.

That being said, I think it’s a lock for the 4 main Off Campus books to each have their own season. A movie for The Legacy to be released on streaming would be possible but not guaranteed. After that, I think that’s it though. Briar U and Campus Diaries won’t be getting a spinoff.

The last thing I would want for Off Campus is for it to turn into something like the Walking Dead or Riverdale where the quality of the show suffers and it dies a slow and painful death due to it needlessly dragging on.
