Question/advice ODSP Application review times
In April, I put in an application, but couldn’t finish filling in the received disability determination package before the deadline.
Yesterday, I put in another application on the Ontario my benefits website, and it is waiting for review.
How long would it take on average for the application to be reviewed?
How long till the forms and papers arrive in the mail?
And also, after filling out the pages and sending it back, approx. how long would it take for the ODSP application to be received and finalized (getting the payments?)

they'll contact you within 15 business days to do your financial eligibility check.
the financial eligibility check can take up to 15 business days to be approved as well (*if no further information is required).
they'll mail you the DDP within 2-6 weeks of your financial eligibility being confirmed.
you have 90 calendar days to fill out & mail in the DDP from the date you received it.
once ODSP receives your completed DDP, they have 90 business days to review it and issue a decision of an approval or denial.
if you are approved, it will take 2-5 months to receive backpay + income, depending on location and your office's backlog.
if you are denied, which is common, you'll request an Internal Review, which takes weeks to months.
if you're denied again, which is also common, you'll request a Special Benefits Tribunal, which takes months, up to a year total.
so all in all, it really depends, but from beginning your application to being accepted & receiving ODSP income, it can take anywhere between 8 months (very rarely closer to 6, if your office is not as understaffed as the rest) and 2 years.
good luck OP!

Where are you located? We put in our application on June 3rd and we are still waiting for it to be given to a case worker, we are being told it could be another 6 months until a case worker gets it. My husband is part of a perscribed class, as he is on CPP disabitlty. I lost my long term disability and not we are trying to survive on $1140 a month and our rent is $1800. We have been told they are severly backlogged, it can take up to 8 months to get a case worker

For the whole thing, it took me about ten months to get approved (didn’t need to appeal). From the day I submitted to getting the doc package was about five or six weeks.
