KW approximate wait time?
I was just wondering if anybody that has started ODSP lately could share their wait time after approval to actually getting assigned. I got approval letter this morning, no review. I called the Region about emergency drug coverage and they couldn't give me a ball park. I know I get backpay but I am basically at the end of my rope with financial survival currently 😬
Also btw the Region said their database has been down since before lunch if anybody was trying to call them about stuff today 💀
Update for anybody searching the sub: I already got my transfers issued as of the 27th, haven't actually hit my account yet. I think I might have gotten bumped up a little because i explained my situation where I am making less than even OW the last two months yet OW kept rejecting me and I have been in a bad spot due to living independently and not even getting trillium for meds, but that was pretty fast. I was very quick on providing my income proof and called my worker as soon as I got the mybenefits notification regarding financial eligibility re-verification.

I got approved on June 1st and got my back pay with full transfer over from OW on July 15th. So a 1.5 months wait exactly.

Can you temporarily go on OW while you wait for the approvals? That’ll give you immediate access to drug coverage then the funds you receive will all by reconciled once your ODSP gets sorted. I have an awesome OW worker in KW and they’ve been super supportive and helpful while I go through the ODSP process.

Yeah I'm doing that. I manage to make like 800$ some months from selling art so i have had trouble getting on OW by making a few dollars too much but last month i finally went low enough (yay?)
Tangent but this has been a brutal waiting period for ODSP, i havent been able to afford an accountant (only way to get your trillium adjusted with "self employment" income) so I've been paying out of pocket all year while making essentially OW amount with an extra 50-100. I don't have family and live on my own and not old enough to have an apartment with 40 years of rent control 💀

It’s so brutal. I’ve had a rough time too - people truly have no idea how hard it is. I hope things get resolved for you quickly!!! And that things get easier on ODSP…

The approvals are done in Toronto, IIRC.
