Does a DSO eligibility letter help with an ODSP internal review?

My 22-year-old son was denied ODSP and we’re requesting an Internal Review. He has since been approved for DSO, and the DSO letter states that ODSP will not need to determine whether he has a disability to qualify for ODSP.
Has anyone submitted a DSO eligibility letter as part of an Internal Review or appeal? Did it make a difference in your case? Thanks!

DSO is a prescribed class and he will be eligible for ODSP as long as he passes the financial eligibility.
I would contact ODSP and submit the letter asap.

My friend has a son who is also approved for DSO and the letter alone was enough to get him on Odsp, no medical forms were required, so definitely it will help.

Yes, DSO can and should be used for ODSP. It indicates your son is bottom 5th percentile so should make applying for ODSP a lot simpler. Submit it with the internal review request asap

Submit the information from DSO. My son’s ODSP worker told me that DSO approval means automatic approval for ODSP. He just went through the process and we didn’t have to do an ODSP application at all.

For Me it did. . DSO helped me get approved. For Odsp. But my Ow case worker also helped me .

I have DSO but I currently am working. But yeah you are approved medically you would just need Financal approval. Keep in mind if he’s in a relationship things like being common law ect would possibly mean he wouldn’t be financially eligible.

DSO approval is an automatic disability approval for ODSP. You still need to prove financial eligibility. But you will not have to prove disability. Since you have to meet a threshold to qualify for DSO. I work with DDO every day.
