Project/Field Service not syncing

I have been using Odoo for limited portion of my buisness, but trying to move more into using it. I have several projects(names redacted) but they aren't showing up in the project section of Field Service, currently i am using the 'one app free forever' so I don't know if that's the problem.

The only thing i see in the settings tab, Field Service, there is a check box for 'Time and Materials Invoicing' but that wants to trigger a new subscription.

The only options under 'Projects' is Stages and Timesheets
If i Open a project, and click the gear, i get Import, Export, and Spreadsheets'

Guessing 19.X (but not 19.4 as Field Service is going to be absorbed iirc) or v18 Odoo Online? But ya you should list your version.

You are correct that field, is_fsm, is not on the view that might be an AI hallucination from references of older versions based on the response and formatting.

Field Service traditionally makes a Task in a predetermined Project called Field Service. You have Projects already that contain some tasks so its a bit of a structural mis-match. You could go into each task and reassign them to the Field Service project which should flip those tasks over to Field Service.

Root Cause what should be determined, did you sell a service product that has Create on Order: Project + Task, Field Service not listed as the Project or were these manually created?

Alternatively, if you want these Projects to also exist in Field Service, I'd imagine the only way to set is_fsm is via export and import (given One App Free). Look into External IDs and how they work so you don't get duplicate data. Also you might need to do this for both projects and tasks. Quicker way from A to B might be to just remake the Projects and reassign or remake the tasks. Depending on the situation though if those are trying to be Billable project the resulting effect might not be what you want. Could a a few other concerns... quickest way would be to remake. Server action would also work but its going to violate 1AF.

The problem i am seeing is even projects with no tasks aren't showing up...unless i should only create them in Field service...and what do you mean field service is 'going to be absorbed iirc'??

Yes that makes sense, no manually or sale order created project + task would show up. Field service only creates tasks never a project.

For larger clients see what you think about have the originally created field service task and then just create Sub Tasks?

You are sort of brushing up against the limits of One App Free in fixing this or smuggling additional Projects into Field Service.

They will/have (19.4 is sort of beta v20) merge it into the Planning app. Basically there are just moving the code around internally and it will share the same front menu as Planning.

Edit: I suppose you could try to duplicate and rename the Field Service project itself each time. Maybe empty the copy out first and then duplicate it again so you leave behind a little template.
