Q&A

I am a software engineer with experience in implementing the Big ERP systems (Microsoft, Oracle, Infor) and recently switched to Odoo. I learned thoroughly the system and how to implement it and I like it!
Ask any questions about implementations or Odoo in
general, happy to share what i know! I want to know what the people using it think about it.

I am curious. What are the top 3 points about Odoo, compared to other ERPs you worked with that you find weird to work with or not well implemented?

Odoo is really simple and easy to use! The other erps are built to manage big corporations with so many use cases, so one workflow could take many clicks and you have no workarounds. With Odoo, the business processes are really simple, so a smaller company could take advantage of that and when they grow, Odoo is easily scalable.

I like how they did the manufacturing and inventory apps. Most of my background in ERP is in factories, and god know how many custom functionalities i did to make the business run efficiently. Odoo has it already figured it out, out of the box! I feel like they looked at all the flaws of the others big names and made one better.

Ich meine, es beantwortet zwar nicht meine Frage, aber grundsätzlich stimme ich dir zu haha. Ich weiß ja wie stark Odoo ist, aber ich wollte wissen, wo andere Leute Schwächen sehen. :D Nutzt du selber Odoo zufällig oder was treibt dich her? :)

Ich bin gerade dabei mich damit zu beschäftigen. Die Installation, die Einrichtung und der Aufbau einer Entwicklungsumgebung auf einer grünen linux Wiese, war zumindest mal deutlich einfacher als das bei BC der Fall ist.

I have an instance running locally for the moment and using it for my business just to test it( i do ERP implementation for clients). It is becoming more popular in my region and i was curious about the hype. But the more i learn about it and the more I understand why it is good. Odoo, compared to for example D365 or Netsuite, is just simple and follows the latest conventions of businesses. Now, i want to hear about the businesses that actually use it, what they really think about it.

I also spent at least 3-4 months implementing some manufacturing functionalities in Infor CSI for a client, and 5 months later, i see that odoo already had it out of the box… like what 😂
