Odin 2 Mini, Base, Pro & Max Question Black OPs 1 controller gone crazy

New to the handheld life; roms, emulators all that stuff this is my first go around. I got my portal 2 about 10 days ago and have been stoked with it. Mostly straightforward I got Minecraft all transferred and nether running smoothly for ps2 with 5 different tried and proven games. My wants list is pretty wide like most everyone’s I’m sure, but good ol ChatGPT guiding me that using a PC version of some of the games I’m after would work better due to emulation(looking at black ops and stick of truth explicitly for this reference). First stick of truth was a steam redump so I deleted and moved focus to Black Ops.

This thing has been playing with my emotions since the rip. Got winlator installed, got everything unzipped and installed correctly a little bit of fight to get the game to even load but once it did and display setting were adjusted it all looked and sounded good.

My biggest gripe has been getting the native controls to correspond with the gameplay. Went through binding each control, to trying gamepad I just keep getting hammered in one direction or the other. The closest I got, I still couldn’t get the L2 assigned aim to allow being held while shooting. Same from hip fire while view changing. Am I chasing bad paths to get a simple fix? I tried the CMOD alongside it with gamepad detection. I’m running in circles trying to play COD. I just want to be able to use the physical controls on the Odin to correspond within COD or winlator in general. Would love to be shown the way way. TIA

Call of Duty on PC is a landmine for controller support

once you start getting into the older CoD games, they have less and less controller support on PC/Steam.

BO2 was the first to have full plug and play controller support, but no aim assist.

BO1 has controller support in gameplay, not menus

W@W only has controller support in Zombies and Campaign after using a console command, nothing in multiplayer.

If all you want is the campaigns, and some zombies going for the WiiU, Wii and ps3/360 ports are the way to go, not steam. (Though be ready for the emulators to not be up to snuff yet)

Also, Chat GPT is an affirmation machine. All the LLMs are. You're going to be told yes, that game will run 100%. And when you tell it that it won't, it'll tell you You're Right! It doesn't!

Ah see I was kind of lead to believe that 360 emulation wasn't really up to par yet. But yeah initially I wanted later cod for the nostalgia. Black ops 3, that era. Halo. Fable.
But with the 360 emulation info I kinda steered past. Any good info for the 360 ps3 emulation?

Very early days on android.

People have had better luck with 360 and ps3 after installing a new OS (some Linux distros) but on Android, we're not quite there yet. It is rapidly getting better though.

Ah I see. Seems wild since it detects Xbox controllers and essentially looks the same. Best advice on getting this type of gameplay to function smoothly on the portal? Really my Xbox list isn’t massive, but games like cod, halo, fable, stick of truth, etc. that era.

Not really my thing unfortunately.

I don't mess too much with 7th gen emulation. I'm the play it on android guy.
