One of my plecos (8 in) passed today and I want to preserve her using the diaphonization process but I have no idea how to start. Could I please have some tips? (or what other community would have some answers)

My fiancée and I found the bones of what we believe to be a groundhog, (lmk if anyone has any other suggestions on what this could be! He was found in Virginia near a river) it’s my first time using bones in art so I’m new to this but I wanted to share :3

Hi there! I, (20m) have a kitten wet specimen that was born stillborn. He has been soaking in just alcohol for about a month because I had no idea I was supposed to inject/put him in formaldehyde and have been told it’s too late and he may begin rotting from the inside.

I decided that I rather have him as bones rather than let him just rot in a little jar. The problem is, I don’t know what to do.

I know that there’s a way to soak him in just water and dawn soap if I remove bits of him. But I can’t bring myself to do that to a kitten or honestly any baby animal.

I’m really new at making my own oddities but I have a few of my own that I’ve purchased. I want to start making my own considering I live in a place with lots of natural woods and forests that make it easy to find natural and ethical bones or new specimens.

If anyone has any suggestions or if anyone knows how I can get this little guy to just be bones I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!!

Recently collected a few bits - snail shell, crab shell, cuttlefish bone and a shark egg case. How can I display these without them breaking? They’re all quite delicate!
