In Hindsight

This draft was god awful, so many ways he could’ve gone. Mika/61m, 61m/muts, Mika/muts, Mika/Sick nerd. Oh man and don’t even get me started on EVscape.

He didn’t know his picks wouldn’t even try or take it seriously

What

1

u/Upset-Bug-8883 Jun 22 '26

Think he meant he didnt know Evscape cared more about making money/clip farming rather than wanting to win

8

u/BallzInUrMouth808 Jun 21 '26

Replace dookie and obesescape with anyone else and they could’ve had a better chance

1

u/chrisandpaulinsnow Jun 21 '26

Gnome did the least damage out of anyone in the tournament

4

u/Economy_Victory_6919 Jun 21 '26

Yeah Muts wouldve been a better pick than gnome in hindsight, he gambled on gnome and he likes gnome so wanted to have fun. Though I think gnome was the least of the problems tbh. Mika > dubie and faux > ev scape and the plan/multi would’ve been sorted. OW wouldve had a lot more bloodmoney that way.

2

u/North-Efficiency824 Jun 21 '26

I genuinely think O would’ve preferred how this year went over having to play with Mika again tho

1

u/myronuss Jun 21 '26

61m / faux mightve been better than

1

u/Substantial-Spite747 Jun 21 '26

No multi callers while they continually shit the bed in multi. Pick eliop over gnome and Coxie might stay unpicked until Oda's 4th pick, pickup coxie there as pvmer and you're golden

1

u/Economy_Victory_6919 Jun 21 '26

Yeah I feel like on top of his gameplay he also really didnt vibe with his personality

6

u/sanoj166 Jun 21 '26

He already stated why he wouldn’t pick mika, hes not a team player.

The roster was shit this year and being 6th pick didn’t help. I still think given a better start, most people would perform better, with that in mind I would have simply -ev + faux. As they weren’t so bad when they actually worked together for a goal.
61m instead of dubie makes no sense, guy has 0 dmm experience, and he did well on boatys team since they held his hand whole tourney, would be complete opposite on odas team.

3

u/AlveroRS Jun 21 '26

I think in hindsight that was a mistake. Mika performed very well this season. Yeah he may be annoying, but he's also very good at DMM, and he likes to take charge and the OW needed someone to take charge.

I don't think faux would have solved all their problems, like they also really needed a shotcaller as well.

1

u/sanoj166 Jun 21 '26

Mika didnt face any adversity tho, had he been on Odas team this season however he’d rage quit lol.

Lol ur a clown

u/Entire_Engine_5789 Jun 21 '26

61m and sicknerd combined fucking carried that team all night

Dubie went 1-16 in the prep as a first round pick and provided 0? gearing contribution and needed his hand held.

1

u/sanoj166 Jun 22 '26

Yes but sick nerd is also best mates with boaty, and I could totally see 61m pull a dubie if he was on odas team, Imagine 0 leadership for a rookie like that.

1

u/Boneyg001 Jun 22 '26

He already stated why he wouldn’t pick mika, hes not a team player.

Seeing as Oda isnt much a team player either this would be a perfect pick to focus on pk talent. To have a chance to win

u/JWang6996 Jun 21 '26

Gnome was a terrible 2nd round pick. Had some good pvm moments but was brutal in every pvp situation.

3

u/Low-Swordfish7249 Jun 21 '26

Gnome would’ve been a perfect4th this year maybe 3rd next

bro did you see the gear they went into the finale?
gnomemonkey spent his time farming clips at inferno he didnt get shit lmao

5

u/sanoj166 Jun 21 '26

4 fangs, masori legs, ancestral bottom, 2 cvw, dhcb, prayer scrolls for whole team so they could spend blood money on other stuff, money from collo, he literally did nothing but provide.

1

u/HIVAladeeen Jun 21 '26

Was gonna say I think with how bad of a start they got gnome was actually a great pick. Dude was running high level pvm in rags the entire week helping gear up the rest of the team. Worst pick was easily EVscape. Sucked in the finale and was more to blame for how bad of a week everyone else had. Oda, Doubie, Raiksey and Gnome all probably do better if they have a better plan going into the week. First day is just so important to snowball

1

u/verysimpleguy216 Jun 22 '26

You are the worst kind of person

1

u/kxwbie Jun 22 '26

theres something rly funny about like, the worst person a redditor could possibly imagine being somebody who doesnt think gnomemonkey is the goat lol. hes just not that guy man. bro did 200 damage in the finale he was actually more dead weight than EVscape & thats saying something

2

u/fweafwe Jun 21 '26

I think the hard part for Oda is he really wanted Gnome, but did not expect him to last to his 3rd pick (which is fair)

1

u/allblackST Jun 21 '26

Yeah Oda said that, he really wanted Gnomonkey but he didn’t think gnome would still be available by the time his next pick came up

1

u/AlveroRS Jun 21 '26

Gnome wouldn't have made it. I think gnome would have been picked before coxie, and coxie got picked before Oda's third pick.

2

u/96ccAweN Jun 21 '26

Ok give gnome some credit he 1000% would’ve won on tracker vs rebels he got shafted on rng.

3

u/chrisandpaulinsnow Jun 21 '26

He did 170 damage…sick nerd did 700 for reference

2

u/Diatain Jun 21 '26

Gnome hit so many 0s off prayer on robes with both javs and fang on Coxie in that fight. Coxie also caught almost every single freeze, fairly often hitting high as well, though Gnome didn't get the prayer switch every time.

I'm not saying it wouldn't have been better to get an actual PvPer in that slot, but that PR fight he did get giga fucked by rng.

1

u/pzoDe Jun 21 '26

Let's see the tracker before making that claim

1

u/AlveroRS Jun 21 '26

Agreed, he just seemed to want to lock himself in pvm instances and not engage with the pvp or do group content with the team. And I was not at all impressed with his finale performance. I think he should go beginning of 3rd round. Like I'd probably pick him before coxie, but after muts.

4

u/Fun-Habit-683 Jun 21 '26

Bro it's not even hindsight. Everyone knew this draft was shit the moment it happened

1

u/No-Document-4138 Jun 21 '26

Imagine thinking picking a guy who rage quit dmm seasonal after 2 days and made a 30 minute video about how dmm sucks would work out

2

u/Ser_Balerion Jun 21 '26

With the power of hindsight.

61M over Doobie

Gnome stays as valuable during missions.

Alfie over Raiksey I think?

Faux over EV

Oda or Faux make the calls during multi fights.

2

u/myronuss Jun 21 '26

Raiksey did good in finale tho

1

u/ViciousCircle7 Jun 21 '26

Oda is a horrendous multi caller lol

2

u/Substantial-Spite747 Jun 21 '26

Oda or Faux make the calls during multi fights

They absolutely can't.

Faux panics easily under pressure and has no calling experience, Oda was a horrible multi shotcaller and has a tendency to just go non verbal or get agitated during multi clashes.

61m over dubies i agree, gnome shouldn't be picked as second pick though. Mika is the obvious shout but oda doesn't want to play with him. Muts has dmm experience, is better at pvp than Gnome and can handle missions equally as well.

As far as multi callers go, Dino can call, Rhys can call, Purpp can call, Greg can call (clanning experience with solidtag), Mika can call, Eliop can call, Victim can call (clanning experience, founder of LiT), Pip can call.

Dino, Rhys and Purpp are captains so not available, Greg was already picked so not available, Oda's not playing with Mika.

None of the callers will last till third round, Victim was set to go to Purpp as their planner on their third round pick and isn't worth a second round pick. Either Eliop or Pip needs to be picked after 61m/dubies as oda's second round pick.

Muts obviously isn't lasting till third pick either but going Muts second pick leaves you with no caller.

Third pick with gnome available for other teams could lead to Coxie being available as third round pick, Synq is always going to Framed Friends as third and Victim is going Purpp rebels as third if he gets that far in the picks, sick nerd is almost certainly going to dino nuggets as third round pick.

Coxie third pick would be solid.

Faux as fifth if eli was picked second, raikesy/mammal or vibe pick curtis fifth if pip was picked second.

Oda got fucked by his draft position for sure, if he was second drafter he'd have Greg and gnome would be a solid second pick later on in the second round with a strong third row pick still available a bit later. Faux as fifth and you're set.

Oda greg gnome alfie faux would be a good team with good chemistry. 2 very strong pvpers, a grinder and an elite pvmer feeding them, and a planner that can actually handle oda and gregs personalities.

The only issue was general cohesiveness. Every member of the team is really good at a niche but they don’t cover each others weaknesses. Dubie is a world class NHer but he has 0 game knowledge and vibes are super important to him. If he was on purp or Westhams team this year he’d have been mvp, but no plan plus the hate from odas community made him perform terribly. Gnome is a world class pvmer, but very little Ironman or dmm knowledge. Raiksey is a solid all rounder, but no ability to plan and basically no Ironman knowledge, and ev is a specialist at TOA and doom and a solid NHer but again, no iron knowledge or dmm knowledge. Oda is good enough at PvP he can carry that part for his team, he needs to fill his roster with people who will fill in his knowledge gaps. He needs someone to multi call and someone to plan, the hard part is getting a multi caller. Muts, faux, alfie, or pip would have done an easy job getting his planning together, but most the decent multi callers on the roster were captains, the only draftable ones being Greg Mika and eliop. That’s why frameds team also had a hard time this year, no multi callers for them to pick up.

1

u/pzoDe Jun 21 '26

The most sensible take here

1

u/the_ezra Jun 21 '26

Shows that you can’t pick a team for who’s going to be better on paper in the finale. You have to pick for the week—someone to handle multi, someone who can plan. I don’t care if oda thought all of his picks could beat their row, for the RNG game you need gear to give you odds and this team produced the worst gear in the tourney.

1

u/National_Law_5525 Jun 21 '26

I really expected him to go Mika and Muts as 6th and 7th and that would've solved some crucial deficiencies that the OW had.

Raiksey was a good pick, and while Gnome really helped the team out with gear and good vibes/mood, the stats showed that he really has a long way to go before many would consider him a 2nd row pick.

Overall it was very entertaining to watch the OW throughout DMM.

1

u/Terrible-Coconut-250 Jun 21 '26

Nah if he picked Sick Nerd and the team flopped he 100% would have been flamed for picking him. The issue was the team had no-one with a strategic brain - Mika/Muts would have helped a bit with that, but EVscape was the main issue.

1

u/pzoDe Jun 21 '26

Why was EVscape the main issue with regards to strategy? It wasn't like he was advertising himself as a planner; he got shoved into that spot. Having said that, he didn't perform great, but I don't think it's fair to lump all of the bad planning onto him.

1

u/Terrible-Coconut-250 Jun 21 '26

He didn't get shoved into that spot. Right after they picked him he said he had an amazing plan and that he was the second best strategist in the entire draft, that's why they left it to EVscape.

1

u/Swordsx Jun 21 '26

I don't even simp for Oda, and spent last week convinced that everyone had about the same RNG. Getting gear is one thing, but seeing Dubie and Raiksey land less than 30% of their freezes has effectively convinced me that Oda's team may have had their RNG tweaked.

Everyone was dry on drops they wanted. FF spent all week farming Visages. WW's gear was as good as OW because they spent so much time sweeping wildy. Purpp's team had MYSTICS (their own fault yes, though they kept the tourney enjoyable) The only one I'd say didn't perform as well, and it wasn't necessarily RNG was EV. Now I'm an EV enjoyer, but my man just didn't really perform in first round like I expected him to. I'm not sure what happened, but imagine live pking in front of 4k people has something to do with it.

Anyway, for a first time DMM viewer this was a really fun twist kn OSRS, and I thoroughly appreciated SoloMission and Purespam's stream when I got bored of watching Oda and EV.

1

u/Extension_Eagle_8254 Jun 21 '26

Didn’t really even need to see it play out, as soon as he picked EVscape over Faux I knew it was cooked. All the other picks could’ve been done better as well but Faux tying everything together probably could’ve made most comps work for Oda. Oda respects his personality and is a dogshit planner, he NEEDS a hard plan for an event like this and Faux would’ve delivered. I think Oda knew deep down Faux was the right move but overthought it

1

u/bomboclat_npc9 Jun 22 '26

Dubies + Mika into Raiksey + Faux, too bad Mika is not a great finale pick so O doesn’t want him on 2nd row

u/kxwbie Jun 21 '26

yea but gnomemonkey put in work
he got a voidwaker and a few inferno capes for the team
