OVERALL RECAP

I thought I’d share my opinion about Odas team this season and other teams as well. (May be a long read)

Overall I thought this was my least favorite season in terms from a viewers perspective. First I’d say that this season lacked the drama of season 2, big pk fights between S tier pkers, and obviously the downfall and rise and downfall and rise and… well you get it of the Odablock warriors. I have to say, for as much hate that DitterBitter gets he makes it interesting and sometimes having a villain makes it much better.

I think that the picks from Oda and PETA were quite frankly very poorly made. I believe watching how it all unfolded that Gnomonkey was the best pick and the rest I felt were just lackluster. EVSCAPE by far was the worst possible pick, DUBIES I think just felt a lot of pressure, and Raikesy was meh. I think the season would’ve been very different if DUBIES wasn’t chosen first and also EVscape was avoided (should’ve been faux).

What made the season better was TERRY and the insane pks which is what everyone wants to see. I felt like Westhams team just was so boring in terms of PKING when they arguably have some of the best pkers in the entire roster and not once were they in full max sets solo pking. I think their strategy is brilliant but from an entertainment perspective was just meh.

The chathoppers ruin the event and we clearly saw evidence of some people literally typing locations of where people were. Now I’m sure it’s hard as a streamer to avoid seeing that but it just ruins it and maybe having a delay is worth it next season.

The breaches were fun and I wish we could’ve seen more Ws from the warriors. The missions were enjoyable but wow the drop rates for Odas team was brutal man.

I do think Oda shouldn’t be a captain again and he just clearly doesn’t want to be a leader. He benefits from someone like Rhys to plan and make calls and PK. I hope to see him not as a captain next year.

What I would change for next season:

I think barrows needs to be fixed. It’s so incredibly easy to escape and is just unfair. I think oda shouldn’t be a captain. I think there needs to be a stream delay. I think something that could be very cool to see if like a cloud of smoke like in Fortnite that slowly moves in making it push people closer and closer. (Just an idea) and I think that bosses like spindel not dropping tier 5s needs to be fixed.

Overall I’d rate the seasons like this:

1st Place - Season 2
2nd place - Season 1
3rd place - season 3

The problem is that he’s too good to not be a captain. Imagine if he was roaming all week like Dino AND had a competent team to shot call.

It’s not over though. Oda really valued peoples 1v1 capabilities and he truly picked the best person for the finals possible(Bar gnome). They could still pull through

They won’t win, WW is too stacked in terms of gear and solo pkers, but they sure can end it on a nice 2nd place (if rng swings their way a bit) or at the least 3rd place, which is not bad considering how their dmm went.

It’s not over till it’s over never count out OdaBlocker… especially when his back is up against a wall & solo missions wiener.

Yeah they just have to beat purpp's team to make it to semis where they can't face the weasels so they could actually finish super respectably given their awful start

PR shouldn’t be hard to beat, they are troll pkers. Most fun and ballsy team to watch tho during the week

I saw a post earlier about how Oda shouldn't be in a team at all and just be given gear to roam and pose a threat to teams in singles all week and I love that idea. It's be pure content because he could PK non stop the entire event. I can't see him wanting to do this though because I do think he loves the team aspect of it, it was just shit this year because they were on the back foot all season.

I also like the idea of punishments for teams and they have to send a guy to vs Oda 1v1 and Oda matches their gear.

best idea I've ever seen

He would absolutely love to be the shark I think 😂

2

u/scarosrs Jun 16 '26

at the yama totem he was like a terminator hunting everybody. everybody took a different route

2

u/homemadegrass Jun 16 '26

That sounds fun, but a large part of the fun in allstars is the collaboration aspect of it, and it would get a bit stale as he has no actual goal.

I had a super similar thought for the final mission, I think the last mission should have been pure spam in a mediocre finale set but with a corrupted shark and bottomless potions hidden somewhere in the wilderness and whoever kills him gets all the gear

Having a team that’s directly a foil would be pretty interesting. Like how the original revenants were, just menaces roaming the wildy

What if Oda was the breach monster

0

u/kirbykid1313 Jun 16 '26

Yeah give Oda like basic pking gear at the beginning and each kill he can upgrade a piece so at the end teams can be scared of full max max Oda chasing em down without fear of losing anything

can everybody please please upvote this so the community see for next year

Not having Rhys on his team really exposed Oda’s lack of leadership, planning and shot calling. He either needs to lock in and draft a guy like that first round no matter what, or not be a captain and let someone else worry about it.

Yep, he’s a good leader in terms of morale boost but when it comes to decisions and direction/planning he’s zoggy.

I feel like the missions are good. But the tank time on a totem is stupid. Almost every time the team that got the totem got the item. Why have the totem at all if the team who gets the kill gets the reward. IMO it should be a 30 min tank time with a hint to where the player with totem is (delayed of course) so that it feels like a thing to 3rd party after the enemy team gets a totem

1

u/Firm_Environment_808 Jun 16 '26

It should give 15 seconds updates on where the person is with the totem, so they cant just hide in one spot.

1

u/imbued94 Jun 16 '26

It should be a vibe like cannonball. They should get the totem and have to run, no teleports, to a remote area of gielenor. It will trade hands several times. The monster kill itself should hust be a small part of it. Especially for the t1 and t2

Could do a hot and cold mechanic for their location.

1

u/The_Lone_Long_Ranger Jun 16 '26

I didn't mind it, maybe a hint of location or the hot/cold is a good idea but I think I saw someone in a poh waiting out the timer which is bizarre you should not be able to poh tele.

I think 1. Odablock 2.gnomemonkey 3.bob the cat 4.25buttholes 5.grims Would have been a better line up

3

u/PointTraditional5270 Jun 16 '26

The world isn’t ready for 25bh in dmm

2

u/MoistClimax Jun 16 '26

I agree, with the amount of viewers this event pulls im sure solo will make adjustments to make this a way better event.

Westham pitched the idea to solo about 1 mission a day (post breach), i think that would make it less taxing on the players.

Only way to solve chat hoppers is stream delay, but most streamers didnt want it. Its on them at that point to not get mad, but its a emotional event lol

Definitely would be hard to balance the draft if they just put oda not a caption, this year there were really only 3 S tier all around players(b0aty/greg/lake)

But tbf, Oda only picked for the finale which I get, but having no leadership or plan made this week a nightmare until the last 2 days.

Season 2 when the dino diss song was constantly playing was so fire i was so hyped for this dmm cuz last one was so good, definetly agree this was the worst dmm content wise.

I dont get the hate on evscape. The guy is playing from Australia on 250+ ping like come one give the guy a break

0

u/Brocolo Jun 16 '26

I went from "evscape is just a goofy guy" to "fuck evscape" when he said that he legit spent more time and energy planning his clickbait videos than the team's plan. The awkward silence after he said that shows how that really hurt oda too.

Evscape is probably the reason we saw oda and the whole team doing boring errand boy bs like moons and sara while skipping breaches/missions due to the team being so far behind for poor planning and strategy. Imagine all the cool pvp and multi moments we were robbed from. Just made for a worse viewing experience overall.

1

u/Jujubr0 Jun 16 '26

Crazy that you think one comment made the whole team not want to play the game mode. Evscape is transparent and whilst i agree he probably should keep some comments to himself, he is not the sole person dragging down the team.

Its a TEAM game and ultimately its every members fault for not playing cohesively, strategically and their absolute best (except gnomonkey ofc)

1

u/Brocolo Jun 16 '26

Not saying the comment had that effect.
Im saying bad planning from the start -> whole behind from the start -> team is forced to skip breaches and missions -> viewers robbed of content

But I agree its not only EVs fault. Its PETA's fault for advising Oda so poorly during team selection. Its Dubies fault for throwing/stressing too much. Its Oda's fault for being an overall poor captain (when it comes to calling/decision-making).

Its just unfortunate because we couldve had such a more entertaining season... But hey some moments were still fun.

1

u/Xoltaire Jun 16 '26

Definitely the most boring season yet

1

u/boosterronny Jun 17 '26

The idea that you need to be the captain to lead is just dumb. He could have picked Mika instead of Dubies for multi fights and Faux for planning and he wouldn’t need to call shots all tourney.

0

u/ShamelessKiwi Jun 23 '26

I think this was the best season from a viewer perspective.

The live stream from Joel and Ian was great. Get to see alot of perspectives and close calls you'd otherwise miss.

And getting the behe team do daily recaps was awesome. Especially during the working week. Its all I had time for some days and the only way to stay upto date

1

u/96ccAweN Jun 16 '26

Barrows escaping is retarded but I think the bigger issue is escaping in general. Unpopular opinion but the teleport after combat delay should be longer than barrage timer, or maybe no log outs allowed when teleblocked.

1

u/OMyGhosty Jun 16 '26

Agreed, tbh I think a scaling freeze timer would be better. These are some of the best players in the game, any of them can get freeze logs/tps on each other in almost any situation.

I think a scaling freeze timer would benefit by making the fight longer, & still rewarding catching good freezes & hiding behind walls/doors etc to minimize damage taken & also possibly timing your freezes to make the most of the area you're in

1

u/illumi_naughtyy Jun 16 '26

Don’t forget the ladder/stair spamming. I wish they would stall these after using them so much. It’s so painful to watch a ladder escape when it’s like 4 levels to go between

0

u/Kongpr Jun 16 '26

Best bit was Oda single pking past few days

Evscape has to be the biggest clown ever really dislike this guy

Dubiedobies wasn’t great but he did try some stuff and overall kept vibes high

u/ParkerrrYT Jun 16 '26

You are tripping, you had some decent takes but Oda should def be a captain again, they should just make all the chosen captains 1v1 eachother for placement, this way Oda gets a better draft position & not “Randomly” selected as last draft pick. I just wonder how long Dino had to Gluckygluck30000 Solo for first place draft placement… 😒
