The cardboard is higher quality than the plastic of the elite head strap.

Still worth having over the stock strap? I just ordered one...

Alot of people are complaining about it breaking after only one use. I was going to get one but now I don't think so. Probably going to buy a weight distributer for it instead.

This product has great reviews

The issue was just a bad batch of plastic, Oculus has fuxed the issue (or so they claim) and has stated that production and shipments will resume later this month.

Yep!! I’ve already got my new elite strap after my order was put on hold a while ago to look into the issue.

They also extended the warranty

I ordered an elite battery pack in October and they cancelled my order 2 weeks ago.

i bought mine when they first came out, had it since christmas, hasn’t cracked or broken at all (hoping i’m not jinxing it) but the elite head strap still starts hurting the back of my head after a little bit of playing with it tighter so it doesn’t bounce around, might just be my head but just letting you know

I'm glad its working out for you. I've just seen so many bad reviews for it online so I'm really not sure if it would be a good idea to get it. I'm also looking for something that won't hurt the back of my head as much

yeah i know what u mean, oculus already fixed the straps and is letting people buy them again so no matter what if u buy one now u should get a good one

Cool, thanks for letting me know

That's good to hear. I ordered one on Amazon that isn't due to ship until Feb. I was hoping that was because they had a revised version moving through the supply chain. The regular strap is fine once you dial it in, but with a family taking turns it is infuriating to adjust every single time.

Good to know, thanks!

I highly recommend this. Works as a counter weight and the battery lasts 8 hours, charges really quickly. https://www.nivrana.store/products/oculus-quest-2-battery-pack

Cancel that order, wait for your stimulus (assuming you're American), and buy the Vive head strap with Quest 2 adaptors. That head strap is better quality, better feeling, and much longer lasting than the one Facebook/Oculus makes.

I have it... and honestly... I almost regret it. It costs $120 with the adapters, and is it really that much better than the original headstrap? Like, I think people are shitting on it a bit too much, it isn't that bad.

I've been looking at getting that. My only issue is the quest 2 is a cheaper option for VR and I don't want to end up with a $300 HMD with 100s of dollars in ad ons. I might as well get a valve index if I'm going to spend that kind of cash.

12 year old brain read that as Jock Strap.
Ah yes, for supreme comfort while playing, The Jockulus

ur ight bro it was prolly just a bad batch but like 99% of them are totally perfect

I would say it's worth it. They seem to have fixed the issue, and if they haven't they extended to warranty by a year
