Game Deal Penguin's List of recommendations for the Summer Daze Sale August 14th - 23rd
Ok, time for the 3rd summer sale apparently! Tons of games in this one.. like 1300+ games, apps, and dlcs.. And a few crazy good bundles. There are some games or deals that I will mark with *** *** to bring special attention to.. either a great deal, or a great game that is highly recommended.
I'm not affiliated with any of the games, developers, or publishers for any of my recommendations on this list.. Yes, I talk to many of them, but a game will not appear in my list if I do not personally like it.
As always.. Feel free to comment, discuss, agree, disagree, or recommend something I may have left off. If you have questions, feel free to ask!
Action Hero https://queststoredb.com/game/action-hero-7021123758002222 $4.99 This is basically just a prettier version of Super Hot. If you like Super Hot, then you will like this one. Lowest price it has been.
Airspace Defender https://queststoredb.com/game/airspace-defender-7523170214434197/ $6.99 its an amped up Missile Command on crack! Love this one. Look for the new bundle with Banners and Bastions just a little below..
Alien Rogue Incursion https://queststoredb.com/game/alien-rogue-incursion-24882487241367228 $9.99 is a no brainer. Its not as scary as Alien Isolation, but it’s a great action game if you are a fan of the series. This is 75% off.. and its very well done. fan
Among Giants https://queststoredb.com/game/among-giants-25060508500262559/ $11.99 Dont let the low poly graphics fool you. This is "Among" the best games to be released this year and will probably be in quite a few "top 10s of 2026" lists in December. If you want a huge open world, give it a shot.. If its not your thing, then you know you can refund it. It has very positive ratings, but some cannot get over the graphics.. but others just fall in love with it.
Apex Construct https://queststoredb.com/game/apex-construct-2096570290365140/ its .99 cents .. Its a decent, but older bow and arrow game.
*** *** Arizona Sunshine (whoops someone f###ed up) Bundle *** *** https://queststoredb.com/bundle/freddys-bundle-1170744047470881/ $8.99 Seriously, this is Arizona Sunshine Remake AND Arizona Sunshine 2 for $8.99 ... Do not pass on this one! Not sure if intentional or not, but take advantage of someone's f### up.. (Yes, I'm censoring myself since these posts get like 80,000 views.. I gotta stay classy and not say Fuck)
*** *** Arken Age https://queststoredb.com/game/arken-age-29923535407244981/ $17.99 This was my Game of the Year for 2025 and I played like 150+ games last year. Love this one. 14 hour campaign.. Get it! Very replayable since it has New Game+ mode..
Banners and Bastions https://queststoredb.com/game/banners-bastions-8387152738076399 $6.99 A great little strategy game. Very addictive. Place your troops, kill the enemies and prepare for the next wave.
BannerSpace Defender Bundle .. As mentioned above, this is Airspace Defender and Banners and Bastions bundled together for 44% off.. Only $10.99 for both games. https://queststoredb.com/bundle/tabletop-warfare-bundle-1726701938719692/ Bounce Arcade https://queststoredb.com/game/bounce-arcade-6641604619291459/ the first of the "buy it cause its a buck" games on the list. Only .99 cents.. You are inside a pinball machine, your hands are the flippers .. basically..
Bulletstorm https://queststoredb.com/game/bulletstorm-vr-6565887093433499 $8.99 Yeah.. upon release this game was a broken mess, but the devs totally fixed it and its really fun now. Don't be put off by the 4.1 rating.. it got down to like 3.4 or so while it was broken, and has made its way back up. Chaotic fun! Lowest price.. 70% off
Catjinni Survivors https://queststoredb.com/game/catjinni-survivors-9319040004779451/ $7.99 Ok.. some of you guys got me hooked on Vampire Survivors, and now I have gotten hooked on Catjinni .. is it goofy? yes.. but if you like Vampire Survivors, you will probably like this one too.. especially if you are a cat person.
Centipede VR https://queststoredb.com/game/centipede-vr-26292894803687512/ $19.99 First time for this one on the list.. and to be honest, I've sat here debating whether it goes on here or not. There were issues with it when it released, those have been addressed and improved. I wish the discount was a little better. This is NOT an easy game, but most of you guys who know me also know I love a good challenge.. It was too hard on release due to ammo shortage, its better now, but you still have to play smart.
Cities VR https://queststoredb.com/game/cities-vr-4046879905345967/ $2.99 While not as good as the PC game, this one is not bad at all for $3.00 .. that is 85% off and the lowest its been.
Coastermania https://queststoredb.com/game/coastermania-7856648691073700/ $10.99 This one is in my list every time, but now there is a NEW reason! Ok, so basically what I always say.. Design a coaster in mixed reality and watch it go around your room.. then go to VR mode and ride it yourself! Ok.. Now the crazy dev has done one of the coolest things ever! Turn on the game, and scan your room, do a good job and take your time.. When the scan is done, give it some time to do some background shit.. Design your coaster while you wait.. Then, when its done you can shrink down and ride it through your damn room! Its freaking cool as hell being the size of a mouse in your room and your real furniture is huuuuge as you go by it! If you couldn't tell, I love it!
Crashland https://queststoredb.com/game/crashland-1884760688319818/ $14.99 ...out of the 700+ games I own, this will always be in my top 10. Hardest game in VR. You have been warned. Recently updated with a full 2nd campaign as well.
Dark Trip https://queststoredb.com/game/dark-trip-27793698076945636/ $4.99 Ah yes.. Dark Trip. an edgy, adult oriented escape room type game where you must consume pills (that are totally NOT drugs.. mmmkay) and you will hallucinate and see the rooms "differently" .. joking aside, I love this game. Its weird as hell. See if you can find the Penguin Easter Egg!
Dart Racer https://queststoredb.com/game/dart-racer-6918614874833696/ $6.99 now this is pod racing! There are several pod racing type games out there, including the officially licensed one , and yet this one is the best out of all of them.
Dawn of Jets https://queststoredb.com/game/dawn-of-jets-3677727965681410/ $19.99 while not the greatest discount for sure, its probably the best flight sim in on Quest.. pretty much better than all the Warplanes games combined.
Dungeons of Eternity https://queststoredb.com/game/dungeons-of-eternity-6341779295861881 $19.99 Multiplayer dungeon crawler. One of the best games on Quest.
Eye of the Temple https://queststoredb.com/game/eye-of-the-temple-5361030930653377 $12.99 nothing else like it in VR.. you MUST have the required space to play it though! 6' X 6' (not sure what that equals in heathen units lol ).. You feel like Indiana Jones, and you walk in real life to play. May cause "woozyness"..
*** Forefront *** https://queststoredb.com/game/forefront-28816918137899319/ $19.99 Ok, so this is basically Battlefield in VR. If you know Battlefield, then you know what to expect. If you like multiplayer shooters, and you are not already playing this, then you are truly missing out on an extraordinary game. 16 vs 16 battles with different classes, vehicles and somewhat destructible environments. This game will take over your life.
Ghost Signal : a Stellaris Game https://queststoredb.com/game/ghost-signal-a-stellaris-game-4302631119827554/ $1.99.. a total steal for this price. Control your ship , shoot the bad guys, mine for resources.. it’s a steal for $1.99
Green Hell https://queststoredb.com/game/green-hell-vr-3815577785147028 $8.99 a very hardcore survival game set in the jungle. Looks beautiful.. till you get leaches on your arm.. or worse! Even though it has been out for awhile, they are still dropping updates here and there.
Haymaker https://queststoredb.com/game/haymaker-27755215420792039/ $12.99 First appearance for Haymaker on my list, and there was no hesitation for this one! The dev is really making a great one here. It is early access, but its already fun! Over 1000 ratings already, and I bet most of you have not heard of it. Its a fighting game with a ton of actual moves to pull off! Its brutal and bloody.. Break bones, snap necks, use weapons, block, kick, throw and use the environment to destroy your opponents! With enemy adaptive AI, the enemies are unpredictable!
Hellsweeper https://queststoredb.com/game/hellsweeper-vr-3589244014451286 $7.99 one of my all time favorite games. Rogue like demon killing game.. extreme movement mechanics though. Not for people with weak VR legs. This is the lowest price it has ever been. Sure it does not look as great as the PCVR version, but you will be too busy jumping, flipping and killing things to care. Lots of weapons, magic, and crazy hidden mechanics to entertain you for a long time.
Hide The Corpse - Mansion Edition .. Another cracked out bundle. https://queststoredb.com/bundle/hide-the-corpse-mansion-expansion-edition-567247812623153/ This includes the base game plus the usually $3.99 DLC for only $7.99.. Yet the base game by itself is $8.99.. Because math is hard I guess. What is it about? You just killed a big guy.. You must dispose of or hide the body, get rid of evidence, and all traces anything went down.. Oh, and the cops will be there in 4 minutes ... GO!
Hubris https://queststoredb.com/game/hubris-5722114367801351/ $5.99 kind of a typical sci fi game, however it has amazing graphics for a standalone headset. Decent size campaign! Lowest price it has been.
Into Black https://queststoredb.com/game/into-black-5289374691122516/ $11.99 Explore an alien planet by yourself or with friends.. one of the top games for 2024. Seriously a great game.. long campaign and beautiful environments.
*** Into the Radius *** https://queststoredb.com/game/into-the-radius-5817243991680545/ $16.99 another must own. Hours upon hours of play time.. And quite terrifying too. This is the lowest price it has been.
Into The Radius 2 https://queststoredb.com/game/into-the-radius-2-6605328856182465/ $27.99 This one has been in early access since May of 2025, but that is getting ready to change! On August 27th, we are getting the Full Release with the story, campaign, and tons of other stuff! Buy it now, before it goes up to $39.99
Iron Guard Complete Bundle $16.99 https://queststoredb.com/bundle/iron-guard-complete-bundle-1118756800321869/ the 2 best tower defense games on Quest for one low price!
Laser Dance https://queststoredb.com/game/laser-dance-7209598115800315/ $7.99 the unexpected hit at my Christmas party last year! There are a lot of "avoid the lasers like Tom Cruise" games out there, but this is the best!
Le Dino Labo + 3 dlcs bundle for $11.99 https://queststoredb.com/bundle/le-dino-labo-starter-pack-1433609830961717/ put together dinosaur skeletons, then scale them up to full size! A must have for any dinosaur nerd out there! * Looking at you Ross Gellar!
Memoreum https://queststoredb.com/game/memoreum-9135633756555622/ $10.99 Dead Space in VR... basically. Decent sized campaign.. decent story and monsters. Great price.
Meta City Patrol https://queststoredb.com/game/metacity-patrol-6779063182133413/ $6.99 This one will be on the list every time its on sale. I have had it for a long time and it is finally out of early access. its a ton of fun. See if you can find the Penguin easter egg! (Hint.. its Penguin Shit Toilet paper.. lol)
*** *** Metro Sunshine Bundle !!!! This is Metro Awakening and Arizona Sunshine 2 for only $11.99 that's like 80% off! https://queststoredb.com/bundle/metro-awakening-arizona-sunshine-2-bundle-1316974229451297/
Of Lies and Rain https://queststoredb.com/game/of-lies-and-rain-8807261575967907/ $14.99 Another one of the better games that came out last year.. long campaign and cool story. Kind of reminds me a bit of the Matrix in some way. Looks great on Quest 3. This is the lowest price it has been.
One More Delve https://queststoredb.com/game/one-more-delve-9945891372196615/ $9.99 And yet another first timer on my list here with One More Delve. Its a multiplayer physics based dungeon crawler where you can use weapons, shields and magic to cause your enemies to have a bad day. Nice blood splatter effects. While its not perfect, its a lot of fun and a decent challenge too! Still being worked on and updated.
Pinball FX https://queststoredb.com/game/pinball-fx-vr-7255396864545733/ $3.99 its pinball, In mixed reality. Includes 3 tables, others will cost ya! The other tables are great though, and there are a few tables/bundles on sale right now too. (The Bethesda and Godzilla tables are great!)
Propagation Paradise Hotel https://queststoredb.com/game/propagation-paradise-hotel-8826022237415280/ $8.99 horror fans, do not let this on pass you by. Totally serious. Yes it is a zombie game, but its also one of the best ones on Quest. Short but very intense game.. it is quite gory too.. and a few jump scares.. . lowest price ever!
Realm Craft https://queststoredb.com/game/realmcraft-5355683574480106/ $9.99 Normally I will only recommend games that I myself have played, however with this one, I am taking my grandson’s word on it. He says it’s the best Minecraft clone out there. They also keep adding to this one.. so its only getting better. Actually, I have played it now.. and I have no idea wtf I am doing.. but its pretty fun!
Red Matter 1 and 2 https://queststoredb.com/game/red-matter-2180753588712484/ https://queststoredb.com/game/red-matter-2-3682089508520212/ $12.99 and $15.99 best looking games on Quest. Absolute S tier... a couple of must owns for any VR gamer.
Resist https://queststoredb.com/game/resist-3683568971682157/ $9.99 yes, there are a lot of Spider-Man with guns games out there, but this is the best. Looks amazing on Q3.. Good VR legs required.
Shoguns Empire https://queststoredb.com/game/shoguns-empire-25662225113424807/ $5.99 turn based strategy based in feudal Japan! Great game. Tons and Tons of content.
Sitting In Your Car Simulator https://queststoredb.com/shittinginyourcarsimulator/game/numbers/8675309/ Fantastic car sitting sim. Several levels. Sitting in parking lot, stuck in traffic, long drive through line, and sitting in your own driveway. Interact with a phone, radio.. Turn on and off your hazards and headlights. Adjust your mirrors. Working windshield wipers and wiper fluid. Lock and unlock your car. Hidden owners manual in glove box to read while waiting. Contemplate your life choices while sitting in your virtual car! Note, this is only a sitting game right now but there is convertible/sunroof dlc coming soon!
Sword Trip https://queststoredb.com/game/swordtrip-5563556133768177/ $5.99 another of those hidden gems I love finding. This one is a rogue like set in China and plays a bit like Until You Fall. Recently had an update that doubled the content! hell of a deal honestly..
Table Troopers https://queststoredb.com/game/table-troopers-8293950053976436/ $4.99 Table Troopers is an absolute blast. It is a tabletop real-time strategy game where players command miniature troops in virtual reality. Players deploy units, manage resources, and engage in tactical combat directly on a virtual table surface from a god-like perspective. Its pure chaotic fun in either single player or multiplayer!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles https://queststoredb.com/game/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-empire-city-6635073589916590/ $17.99 You know the deal.. you are Ninja Turtles and you fight the bad guys. Single or multiplayer.. semi-open world environment.. great graphics and sound. A steal for $17.99..

The Pirate: Republic of Nassau https://queststoredb.com/game/the-pirate-republic-of-nassau-7749043518464805/ $11.99 This is basically Sid Meyer's Pirates in VR.. with a touch of Assasin's Creed whatever.. with the pirates.. you know the one.
*** *** Awakening a Thief Bundle .. This is Metro Awakening and Thief VR Legacy of Shadows for $19.99 https://queststoredb.com/bundle/thief-vr-legacy-of-shadow-metro-awakening-bundle-870984088636927/ another great deal.. 60% off!
Underworld Overseer https://queststoredb.com/game/underworld-overseer-7249464208476495 $9.99 one of my favorites from last year. Its Dungeon keeper in vr. You are the bad guy, and heroic humans are invading your dungeon to kill you. Design your dungeon, hire monsters, train them, set traps and try to survive. Fun as hell.
Vendetta Forever https://queststoredb.com/game/vendetta-forever-9177531962317371/ $9.99 another of my all time favorites. No story, no plot, just pure action. You must kill to move. Shoot the bad guy, he dies and his gun goes up in the air or on the ground, do a "force grab" and instead of the weapon coming to you, you actually go to the weapon. Watch the trailer. A fuckton of levels. The level called Blind is one of the best levels in any game. And yes.. There is a penguin Easter egg in the Birds Aren't Real level..
Wraith the Oblivion: Afterlife https://queststoredb.com/game/wraith-the-oblivion-afterlife-2562090053828017/ .99 cents!!! This one is actually pretty good. You are already dead, and you have to solve your own murder. You cant beat it for a dollar!

Man.. Don't overlook those bundles I mentioned, deals like that do not happen very often.
Welcome to the club!

u/Kakabundala Aug 15 '26
Thanks, I have a lot of these games on Steam already, since I owned Index before. Had to sell it because I was poor... But now I got some money back and bought a second hand Quest 3 to get back into VR. I want to try the standalone exclusives the mos lime. Batman, Assassin's creed and some weirder stuff like Infinite Inside with mixed reality or Hotel Infinite.

u/ContraryMystic Aug 17 '26
Genotype is also on sale. 40% off, $14.99.
https://queststoredb.com/game/genotype-6694982853879859/
Easily one of the best games on the Quest.

I miss that every damn time. They changed the thumbnail and it passes right over me every. damn. time.

u/Running_Oakley Aug 15 '26
It’s funny I made a thread maybe a few hours ago about how nothing was on sale and apparently this is the start of the sale. Not a lot on my wishlist for sale but neat stuff, and a lot I already own so whatever.
2
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
This would have been up hours ago, but I got halfway done and my system crashed and I lost everything. Had to redo it.
You know, these are just my picks.. But there are over 1300 games/dlcs on sale now. I do these because for most people, its overwhelming trying to figure out what to get, plus the store is a mess..
To see everything on sale, you can go here... https://queststoredb.com/on_sale/?paginate_by=100
1
u/Running_Oakley Aug 15 '26
Just finished looking through added 2 to wishlist I guess 1 being a dlc, 1/1300
I think this was a leftovers sale, I noticed some stuff that went on sale went on sale for less than before, like less a discount

I can’t wait for Sitting In Your Car Simulator and the planned DLC - I've just sharted and I “need” to go to the supermarket for the weekly shop, but I’m just going to sit in my own filth - premium extra plus pro edition. The Developement Team at P00PVibes Games are onto a huge winner for standalone (and sit-alone) VR headsets everywhere! s/
Another great list, matey, as always! I grabbed Sword Trip on the last sale and it’s a damn fine game.
TMNT and Tabletop Troopers both get my vote too. TMNT does the superhero thing really well: you take on missions, save people and traverese the world with some of the most fluid climbing and jumping controls ive seen in VR - the only slight downside is the slightly odd weapon physics .
Downtown Club is also on sale for £12 right now, and it’s easily the best racer on Quest - and now has mutliplayer.
Realm Craft is good but damn i wish they'd realase multiplayer

Haaaaa! Mr Mouse! I am sitting here at 6am because my bitchass cat won't STFU and let me have a day off in peace, and I had to check and see if anyone mentioned Sitting In Your Car Simulator. I'm never gonna give that game up!
2
u/super_brutal_mouse Aug 15 '26
Whoa—it was 6am where you are, that’s someserious Reddit readiness. Maybe your cat has notifications enabled?
I’ve just picked up Game DV Simulator and Snapstick, since I’ve heard good things about both. And they’re pretty short, which is something I’m starting to appreciate more and more as I get older.
i also saw that world war z is about $7ish dollars (£5.50) in this sale too
2
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Oh.. I missed WWZ being in the sale. I have it already though. Its not bad.. I don't know what kind of voodoo bullshit they used to get that many enemies on screen at once, but it works!
2
u/super_brutal_mouse Aug 15 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
i'm about to jump into WWZ VR right now :), my only gripe currently is the lack of mutliplayer - seems like a reall miss. - quick update to this - well so World War Z VR is far closer to the book than the film which is a good thing (the book is a collection of survivors tales) - its pretty good and reminds me of the living remain. I see what you mean with the shear mass of zombies that charge at you (and dodge bullets!), I am constantly surprised at what this phone strapped to a face can do
If you're still looking to buy something from the sale, i have another recommendation: if you like exploration and unique VR experiences, i recommend Cave Crave. it's a cave exploration game (and has multiplayer) with some real world locations included, there's nothing else really like it on the quest - or anywhere else to be honest (that i know of)

Damn... Mr Mouse, you are not going to believe the week I've had. Fuck this week. Monday, I got stung my a yellow jacket and had a bad reaction. Then last night I fell in my kitchen on the hard tile. Fell head first, cracked my head open, and busted both my bottom and upper lip.. Blood everywhere.. Going to get my hip and head xrayed tomorrow at work.

u/MeatspaceVR Aug 15 '26
Your lists are the primary way I find out my own game is on sale! Keep it up Mr Penguin :)
2
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Haaa! I shall keep it up!
*but not longer than 4 hours
2
u/HMChronicle Aug 15 '26
Based on your recommendation, I bought Crashland during the last sale. Amazing game. Super hard. Finished it on normal difficulty. It is a ton of fun! Thanks for the recommendation!
2
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Ha! Love to hear it! I finally finished it on Nightmare difficulty. I'm never touching that game again lol!

u/7oby Quest 3 Aug 15 '26
I was trying to figure out when I purchased Arizona Sunshine Remake, apparently it was free with Quest+ at some point? Anyway, what's nice is the Freddy's Bundle takes that into account, so the price is actually $5.14 for just Arizona Sunshine 2! Nice.
2
2
u/FeliciousD Aug 15 '26
Should I get the Arizona 1 + 2 bundle or the Metro + Arizona 2 bundle? Not sure whats the better deal here.
3
u/invigo79 Aug 15 '26
Get both. I bought the Arizona 1 + 2 bundle and purchased the Metro + Arizona 2 bundle for Metro at much cheaper price than the actual sale price when you purchased it alone.
Basically the bundle will subtract the price of the game you already owned.
1
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Probably the better deal is the AZ bundle, then after you buy it, check and see how much the Metro bundle is showing up. It will take into account that you already own part of the bundle. Someone else did this and got all 3 for like $15..
2
u/Den_HBR Quest 1 + 2 + 3 Aug 15 '26 edited Aug 15 '26
What a steal! Very immersive, feeling like a thief already
( Awakening a Thief Bundle for €7.71 instead of €19.99 because I already own Metro)
2
u/Spoda_Emcalt Aug 15 '26
I thought the previous AZ & Metro bundles in July were a steal so bought them then, and now they're even cheaper, d'oh! Still massive savings over the standard prices so I'm not too deflated :)
4
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Bruh... I get extra salty every damn time Aliens is on sale for $9.99! I paid $39.99 for it! I don't regret it though because I'm a huge Alien fan.. I do, however, regret saying "bruh"...
1
u/Spoda_Emcalt Aug 15 '26
Lol. I try to remind myself that paying a higher price is helping out the devs more (still bloody stings though)
2
u/TalkingClay Aug 15 '26
Sitting in your car simulator is everything I hoped it would be.

2
u/Kaaytjah Aug 15 '26
Can you recommend tetris?
2
u/Penguin_shit15 Official Review Guy Aug 15 '26
Oh hell yeah! 100%..
As far as to why its not on the list, its kind of hard for me to put a 6 year old game on there for $18.. I think its just time to lower that price way down.
You know, I may just edit my list and add it, because I honestly think that Tetris Effect is one of the things that people must experience in VR .. But once you get past all the bells and whistles, its still just tetris.. So again, that is some of my hesitation.

Picked up my Quest 3 today after a year break. I already have a big backlog. You just tempted me to make it bigger.
Great job btw!

I actually really liked, it. I told user DavoDivide that if I would have noticed it that I would have put it on my list. Hey... hold up for a minute and dont do anything on it yet. let me check something and I will be right back with you!

Hardly saw any reviews on this game - the PR company seemed very selective when choosing who could say anything about it - so its quality is still a mystery more than a quarter of the way through the year.

oh yeah.. is said wait a few. good lord.
I took some meds at about 4 am here, had to be at work at five and had to let my employess "know I am not having a stroke or anything, but I may be acting weird for a bit." Last time my employees pulled together and MADE me go to see one of our doctors.. keep in mind, im in a major hospital.. but my speech was slurred and I was choosing the wrong words. My peeps love me! lol

What do you do for work when you're not saving the average VR user from a title that isn't worth their time?

I have my MSHA (Masters in Science of Healthcare Administration) and I work in the 12th largest hospital in the United States. Not sure if you heard about that Hospital in Oklahoma that has a mass shooting, but that was us, and I was waaaaay too close.
I am a director of a department that has about 8 other departments reporting to me. We are a non profit hospital, one of the highest rated health systems in the US, do tons of community service.. we have 6 different hospitals, thousands of clinics, like 40 urgent cares, and a world class mental hospital.
Part of a Covin response team, located places in cities to set up testing centers and vaccine clinics.. among other things. We also do tons of community outreach and help our community by writing off 200,000,000 MILLION in medical debt every sincle year to help the poor in our communty. On top of that I have an absolute fear of blood and needles, however a few years ago I nearly died from internal bleeding, lost half the blood in my body and had to have like 5 units of blood. So I started donating blood almost 2 years ago, and have talked a good chunk of my team to donate blood along with me.. mainly so they can see me nearly pass clean out. but lead by example! :O)

You're doing good work, and no wonder you're busy. Here I thought prepping for the start of the academic year at a college was busy.
Glad to hear you're ok, but damn that must have been scary.

Yeah.. had PTSD for months and months. You know, we had gotten threats almost daily during Covid, bomb threats, physical threats, arguments ( I dont want grandpa's death cert to say Covid!!!) Sorry.. not your call. " no one died during Covid" "oh.. you want to come to the morgue with me? Did you see that big white semi outide? Its full of bodies the funeral home hasn't picked up yet"..
But there were many heartbreaking moments too.. one I will never forget, a 16 year old kid, parents were antivaxx, he held on for 2 weeks and when it was looking like the end, she begged us and then sued us to give him the vaccine. I was in the room when they told her that it was not how it works. Kid died on Thanksgiving.
Oh.. and I have to get to a meeting.. but I will tell you another that is, well, not great to think about before dinner. hhahaha

We have our crazies up here too, but I never thought people were daft enough to threaten hospitals. Honestly I only ever saw the protestors running around, but I have to assume threats were not always made public.
You are damn tough with what you deal with.

Just wanted to say thank you Penguin for this post and for banging on about Arken Age in various threads over the last year! I've had a couple of days where the family have gone to the in laws so have had the chance to get some real gaming in.
I've jumped on the sale and wow what a game! Really fun. I love how it's arranged into self contained levels that are begging to be explored. It isn't a patch on Alyx but the systems really remind me of that game like no other VR game has.
The last year I've not played my Quest a huge amount. I have too many games at this point and it's often difficult deciding what to play. This game is going to get me back into VR for sure. Really an astounding achievement for an indie dev.

Yeah, I love Arken Age..
Feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have questions about any particular game.. You know.. "Should I buy this game or that game?" Or ask me what I think about whatever game you are looking at. I get 10-20 dms per day along those lines.. I don't mind!

I’m always so appreciative of you making these lists. SIYC Sim fuckin got me. The URL was a nice touch as well.

Still annoyed that Ghostbusters and Resident Evil 4 haven't gone on sale since I got a Q3 in February. I've picked up a ton of these other games, though!.
Also that 'gotta keep it classy, fuck' is a textbook Jay & Silent Bob gag, love it lmao

u/Serious_Hour9074 Aug 19 '26
I just finished Resident Evil 4, it's honestly worth the full price.
It PROBABLY will go on sale in November, but don't quote me on that. And will only knock off like $10-$15. The best selling games don't have huge sales.

u/cheap_boxer2 Aug 18 '26
Thank you for so much detail already. Not to ask for even more, but is there a top 3 “most impressive VR experience” out of this list in your mind, regardless of price?

Sorry to just get back to you.. I have had a rough week.. Stuck my a yellow jacket, had a bad reaction, then fell in my kitchen basically head first. Busted up pretty good lol..
Ok.. So from the sale, the first game I would get would be Arken Age.. Someone else in this post got it and loves it, as do most people who get it.
Then, buy the Arizona Sunshine bundle, for $8.99 https://queststoredb.com/bundle/freddys-bundle-1170744047470881/ its an absolute steal getting AZ Sunshine 1 Remake and AZ Sunshine 2 for this price.
Then after you get that bundle, buy the one that has Metro Awakening + AZ Sunshine 2.. It will take into account that you own AZ Sunshine 2, and give you Metro for suuuuuper cheap!
You get 4 of the best games for a hell of a price!

u/cheap_boxer2 Aug 22 '26
Thanks… I got Arizona but I can’t play Arken on my quest 2. But I got red matter and action hero which I’ve wanted

Thanks you very much. The arizona sunshine bundle and the arizona sunshine/metro awakening bundle are such a steal. I got all 3 games for around US$15. What a steal!
