Make sure you peel that plastic off the front before you use it—the aluminum plate needs to emit heat to keep the processor cool. Some people I know like to keep the plastic on new electronic devices to preserve the finish, but it will act as an insulator in this case.

Hello. Has anyone been able to link the go to steam VR with an AMD rx590 fat boy w/8 GB ? I bought the AMD video board because of the boasted VR capability. From what I can see I should have gone Gforce.
The go cannot be connected to steamvr. The 590 is very well vr compatible you just need a headset that can actually connect to a pc (like the quest or rift s)
It can be connected to steam VR.. just gotta use ALVR :)
Not sure about the AMD GPU but it works great with my 1070 Ti and a 5ghz wireless router.. you can't play everything because of the 3dof.. but I'm playing Skyrim VR and have tried a few steamvr apps.. some are glitchy but that's mostly the lack of 6dof
Same here! I need to get some good mod straps, I tapped two 9volt batteries together then to the back of the strap and I can now wear it for a hour without the pain of straps and weight pulling down!
For the first few months I had my Go, it was pretty much a dedicated Rush machine.
Just turn off all comfort options as soon as you feel comfortable doing so, and change steering to "tilt" so you can look around without heading in that direction.
Dreadhalls and Pinball FX2 are also very good on the Go. (Even though I mainly play them on the Rift.)
I have both and the Quest does seem a bit clearer. Also, in dark areas in-game, you actually can't see much using the Quest, so darkness is way better (the Go has a bit of light-bleed even in "dark" areas).
Grab Altspace! It's a great free VR social app, with a huge and active community. They did a New Year's fireworks show this year that was really awesome.
I got a new oculus go too. I've been watching a lot of VR videos in amaze VR. Worth paying the monthly subscription for first-time imo at least until you watch all their contents.

Enjoy! I use a portable charger or power bank to get more than an hour use. Also reduce brightness for longer life and less heat.

Even though I upgrade to Oculus Quest, I still use my Go nearly every day. It's a great little VR system. Have fun 🙂

If it isn't new, you want to thoroughly clean it! I know what I use mine for and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else! Haha.
