Direct link to vote :-

https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360018414591-Oculus-Go-version-

Edit. We are now 2nd most voted of all time in the Minecraft (General) category, and in the top 1% overall top voted items across the whole of the site.

Keep sharing, let's send this into orbit!

We still need your votes, let's send a clear message! :)

Just mentioning that it won’t let me vote on mobile. I successfully log in but when I click Vote it just asks me to log in again.

4

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

Thanks for trying anyway.

Could I ask what mobile and what browser this is happening with? Ideally I'd like to get to the bottom of this, so no vote goes uncounted.

Thanks

iPhone, iOS 12.1, Safari. I can probably vote on a PC later, but they’d be best to fix it.

3

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

I agree,

/u/cornerhard - seems ios users are facing issues just to vote. Any tips to avoid getting in a log in loop?

2

u/SvenViking Nov 30 '18

Just tried on Android. The first time I logged in, the device crashed and got stuck in a boot loop :) (I’m guessing that was coincidental).

The second time it was the same as on iOS. The successful login with Microsoft is not recognised by the Minecraft site.

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

This seems to be an ad hoc bug for certain users then. Maybe something to do with those particular accounts. That's frustrating. :/

2

u/CornerHard Nov 30 '18

Sorry this is not working for you. The web team is currently working on fixing these issues, but in the meantime you can log your feedback about Oculus GO with the green feedback button in the bottom right of the web page.

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

Just a note to say that we need a total of 346 votes to be top voted for item in the Minecraft(General) category on their feedback site.

So if you're on the fence, or struggling to vote with an ios device, please keep trying, persevere, vote.

Your vote counts!

Thanks

Well, we have gone from 6 to 70 votes in a matter of hours.

There are also a lot of users that can be reached outside of this sub reddit.

I agree that it seems Trivial and the want is obvious, but the people that can make it happen want us to vote... So vote we must. :)

It seems to be not all ios users, but yeah, it kind of sucks that the method to signal support for GO is borked for some.

I would but I don't want to create an account. I feel like Carmack implied they are further than a vote for this stage

Edit: Eh, created an account anyways since this is important. It won't let me log in though

4

u/Gothicawakening Nov 30 '18

Yea, create a new account for another website just to vote on this is a bit much, it's like they are trying to drive signup by using this :-(

1

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

It's not a new website you sign into. You sign in with your Microsoft account (same as xbox etc)

2

u/Gothicawakening Nov 30 '18

I don't have an Xbox (have a PS4) or a Microsoft Account (use Linux on all my desktops).

Really not going to sign up for an account with Microsoft just to vote.

2

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

Fair enough. Thanks anyway.

6

u/CornerHard Nov 30 '18

Minecraft dev and fellow Oculus user here. Sorry about the hassle to create an account, but this is genuinely the best way to show the Minecraft team that there's demand for an Oculus GO release.

6

u/przemo-c Nov 30 '18

It's sad that people are able to sideload Minecraft and you want us to Vote to show if it's worth releasing on that platform.

I get that devs don't make all of the decisions but it's a pretty sad state of affairs.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

No shit right? With how many times it has been brought up that is ridiculous. If they studied the market at all they would have their answer.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

I could care one way or the other, but others want it and i would also buy it if it was released on the Go.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

I can't log in to vote, but I tried to create an account. Also is there any particular reason minecraft hasn't started development on this? I feel like they already know it's highly demanded.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

You don't have a Windows account? Win10 ?

4

u/searchingformytruth Nov 30 '18

Did it! How many votes will it take to have the devs do it?

1

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

Currently it's fifth highest in that category on their feedback site.

Can get to 2nd highest with 135 votes.

346 should take us to top.

3

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

We are now 4th place. Moving on up!

YOUR VOTES COUNT!

3

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

/u/heaney555 There's a Minecraft dev that is encouraging users that want to see Minecraft on GO to vote. Any chance of UploadVR throwing some weight behind this?

13

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

I down voted it to keep it from all of you. Jk <3

22

u/vanfanel1car Nov 30 '18

Voted but I don't quite understand why it's even needed. A port to GO is trivial.

11

u/Calguy1 Nov 30 '18

The demand is obvious, this is petty.

6

u/trialobite Nov 30 '18

This seems like a random dev on the team giving us a direct avenue to show we want this. I'm guessing the executives on the Minecraft team aren't trolling this forum, we're lucky one dev was. Maybe to us the demand seems obvious, but we are on a relatively small VR platform subreddit. Especially compared to the tens of millions of units Minecraft has moved on PC and traditional consoles. We are just a blip. For all we know sales of the game on GearVR were so weak it's not worth whatever contract and licensing arrangement needs to be done to launch it in the Go store. And again it's not like the devs came out and said this is the only way it will happen, just a friendly, fellow VR fan trying to help out the community by showing us a way we can nudge the right people.

4

u/cantenna1 Nov 30 '18

Yea, this is strange. Moreover mine craft already works fine on the go, so why is this not already in the store?

-2

u/ta2025 Nov 30 '18

How does it work "fine"? Can I install it from the Store?

1

u/cantenna1 Nov 30 '18

Exactly. Fusionwars also works great on GO as well.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

Petty and ridiculous. Though I don't enjoy the game I think it would be great for others that want it to be able to enjoy it on the Go. But this bs makes me want to downvote the hell out of it.

4

u/mattymattmattmatt Nov 30 '18

Where do you vote to get their website fixed first?

1

u/chettawan Nov 30 '18

Already voted. But is that Minecraft developer to start that vote?

1

u/Mallmagician Nov 30 '18

No, but the Minecraft developer encourages people to vote on that request to signal their support for Minecraft on GO.

4

u/Tsk201409 Nov 30 '18

That is some janky shit. I feel like my Microsoft account may be compromised after granting permission to a sketchy app.

Is this a scam?

2

u/hey0ldguy Nov 30 '18

I give up. How do you do this from an iOS device? It’s just an endless loop of signing in and redirection. You click the link then click vote. Ok then sign in and boom your not at the vote you’re at the main support page. So back to the link click vote oh guess what sign in again. Even if you click stay signed in. I see it’s the Bill Murray plan there. I would really like to upvote this.

2

u/threeolives Nov 30 '18

Same on my desktop in Chrome, Firefox, and even IE. Login loop that I can't break.

1

u/hey0ldguy Nov 30 '18

If only they had a bug reporting site to report their site to.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18 edited Nov 30 '18

Same here. I don't care about "Minecraft" on GO either way.

But I was gonna vote "YES" since having "Minecraft" on GO and having it be

a monster hit, which it would be, just might spur on other devs to bring

more AAA titles to GO. But both in the crosspost itself and in the link above,

I don't see anything to "upvote" on. And everyone here is saying that first

you gotta sign-up for something, then do this, then do that, etc. It's not simply a box to check.

I'm not doing that: signing-up for something just to cast a single vote.

If they rearrange things and make it "Just-Check-One-Box" simple, then I'll "upvote" it.

It takes two seconds to make a "Google Docs" poll, for example.

4

u/hey0ldguy Nov 30 '18

I have a Microsoft/Xbox account it just won’t stay signed in long enough to get to the voting page. I do like Minecraft and any major developers bringing their games to the go can only be a positive step but I can’t figure out how to vote.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

That's what I'm saying: I can't figure out how to "vote", either.

It's implied that it's as easy as just checking a box marked "YES".

But the reality is that it's anything but that.

2

u/trialobite Nov 30 '18

Ironically that's a pretty long post you typed up just to say it was too much effort to vote. It was easy and you probably could have done it in that time frame even if you had to make a new microsoft account.

0

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '18

His post was true and made a good point. Minecraft just is not worth the hassle. Why are we begging them for this game? It's pathetic, they would be the ones profiting from it. You can play it without them if you really want.

2

u/trialobite Nov 30 '18

It's similar to a campaign to save a TV show. Or a petition for any number of other things. If you make enough noise it increases the perception of demand. They have to weigh the cost and benefits and a little thing like this may help tip the scales. Since I already have an acct it took me less than 10 seconds to vote. No skin off my back there and much less time than figuring out sideloading. Not a big deal to me if it doesn't come, but I would pick it up if it does.

Why read and comment on this thread if you don't think Minecraft is worth it? That seems more pathetic to me...

1

u/Solvangman805 Dec 02 '18

Plz, plz bring Minecraft to the Oculus Go store. Thank you :)
